They pulled this scripture out during my JC's when I was reproved -that if I didn't repent and fill my life with good works my unclean habits would return and become worse than ever.
I know for a fact that while the scripture might be true, the filling of your life with JW "Good works" doesn't do diddly against the awe-inspiring Booty Demons. I mean, the more tired from a day of service I was, the MORE likely I was to get sloshed and go chasing young women around.

ok, watched both of these the other night .... "dawn of the dead" was a bit comic while trying to be scary imo (very predictable), shaun of the dead was genuinely funny and not a bad scary flic in spit of that.. what was your favourite?.
i think "night of the living dead" was scarier that dotd because it was grittier.
horror films are better low budget (ala blair witch).. "28 days later" was scarier because it looked more realistic and was gritty instead of glossy.
I liked Peter jackson's old flick "Dead Alive" which was hysterical and relied on characters and a whole ton of gore.
I enjoyed the Dawn remake - it relied on characters to tell a story as opposed to just a "boo" effect. It was VERY glossy, though ,you are right about that.

i know this may sound strange but i would like some input on the following.
i have a handful of friends (some in the org and some out) that are saying that "god" is talking to them.
he is communicating directly or using an angel.
Not me. I'm a believer, but nothing like that has happened. Ask Littletoe; he had something like that happen...

looking back, i realized that the last couple of years before i left, i pretty much stopped donating to the "worldwide work".
if i was "reminded" at a convention that we should "give freely", i might've given some cash, but usually i didn't....what about you?

I donated my tax return every year - since I was a teenager in college, I usually got a few hundred back; added up to a sum or two, I guess. Water under the bridge. That money was spent building a "religion of the bribed and coerced" long long ago... har har har..

in genesis 6:1-2 it speaks of how angels began noticing the daughters of men, came down to earth, took them as wives and had sexual relations with them.
however, if angels are sexless how come some of them didn't notice the handsome males on the earth and want to change themselves into females to have sex with them?
if an angel is truly sexless and it wants to try some human hanky panky, surely it wouldn't matter which sex it became?.
Homosexuality hadn't been invented yet... duh...

We were suppose to be in harmony with the destruction he was bringing and not feel sorry for any that he kills,,or else you might be next because you pissed him off.
You think that's it? I'm not sure as to the exact cause, myself. You're right, we did have a skewed perspective on what was supposed to feel right and wrong regards tragedy. Like, 2,000,000 9/11's couldn't be wrong, right? Armageddon would have been exactly that.
But I wonder if there is an actual mechanism that created my inability to cry. trauma... emotions messed up somehow... what is this? What am I? Sometimes I stare at myself in the mirror and am like, who the hell IS that? Where the hell did you come from?
