The record shows Jesus was whipped, slapped and spat on, but no mention is made of beard-plucking. If it had happened why would it not have been named along with the other abuses and insults?

What a pearl of reasoning... (shaking heads in disbelief)

Imagine an officer testifying in court: "witnesses say that the victim was dragged, spat, whipped, but since they don't even mention beard-plucking, the investigators team conclude that this was a sure evidence the man was beardless"....

Just got back from the YMCA

i went to the y last night just to relax and go swimming.

the y near my house is pretty clean and after 8 p.m., not very crowded.

i find it very relaxing to go work out, play basketball, go swimming and then sit in the sauna after a long shower.

I Have Finally Sent My DA-Letter

i finally did it!

after 3-4 years of being inactive i wrote a da-letter and faxed it to the headquarters of the "christian congregation".

i am planning to be more active in helping ex-jw and i have become a member of the newly founded "netzwerk sektenausstieg" (cult exit network) in germany.

let's face it - english is a crazy language.

Speaking of languages, sometimes I wonder why so many people say things like

you want to try and help a six year old

instead of the simpler "you want to try to help a six year old..."

these being sold are the original WT CD with publications in text-format since 1960's up to 2003.

If the CD being sold on eBay are really the original ones, then is legal to do so, as I understand it.

The other CD you were talking about was the work of a kind soul who created a searcheable text+image (PDF) CD of some old WT books, which can now be found on http://quotes.watchtower.ca/

I'm one of those who believe they were right the first time and their newer view of the 'generation' is the incorrect one. A person born in 1914 is 90 years old now.

Flash, that is what I thought when the change came out in 1995. But as the years passed, I came to the realization that the WT was right: that doctrine had been bogus all along.

When I read CoC, then things became a lot more clear on this particular topic.

I never did that, but an elder in my congregation did and was very proud of it.

I was doing a quick search on something else when I came across this resumé of a fella who seemed to have been a Bethelite. Down on his resume under "Education", he includes the Theocratic Ministry School as part of his education.

This is not the first time I hear someone doing this. A lot of JW seem to buy into the WT propaganda that this is an education... Did you do that?

I'd love to hear your thoughts.
