Tone of the current literature
by TheListener ini haven't started a thread in some time but this is something that has got me thinking.
i want to know if i'm off-base here or if others have noticed this too.is.. over the last several months (perhaps 6-9) i feel that the tone of the wts and kms have been very strong.
not strong in the sense of legalistic do's and don'ts but strong in the sense of do more!!!!

Are we really free or are we just kidding ourselves?
by cyborgVision inhope i can get some positive feedback., and i really mean it, don?t want to offend anyone but .. .
reflecting on your own experiences are people on this website mainly open to new points of views, new ideas, or is this mainly a site for criticizing even when there?s no concrete evidence just for the sake of it.
reason why i?m asking this is because i?ve been a member here for just under a week here and already had unpleasant experience of being dragged into pretty nasty argument just because i dared to disagree with someone.

"Recently I pulled a not so clever prank on the board. Most posters were fine with it, some thought it was funny but a couple were not so amused."
Nicolao, don't you have anything better to do, you **BEEEEP** ?

The site posted by Mecurious has an interesting reasoning on the "YES" section:
"In the same way, although the New Testament writers passively accepted the oppression of women, it does not imply that a leadership role for a woman would be wrong in today's very different society."
The same reasoning above can be used to explain away a lot of things a person disagree with the Bible:
- The opression of women
- The non acceptance of homossexuals
- The acceptance of slavery
- The adoption of strict sexual morality
- The practice of shunning
- etc. etc. etc.
That's why I don't think we should take he Bible seriously.

KM - Local Needs
by TheListener ini thought it would be interesting for those of us who still attend the meetings to let everyone know what our local needs part was/will be this week.
(the km allots 15 minutes to local needs at this weeks service meeting).
ours will be on meeting attendance.

"everyone now avoids this "anointed brother of Christ""
What a good laugh! Thanks.
I mean, if you want to be in peace with the congregation never ever become an "anointed brother of Christ".
What the heck...
