Thanks, James, for the info.
To understand the history of the WT well, we have to put together a puzzle comprised of many pieces. What you added certainly are some good pieces. That's why this board is so great: because different people bring different perspective and help make a fuzzy picture more clear.
Thanks.

WT elder school Pittsburg PA in Jan 1970
by james_woods inhave been gone from the board for a month or so, but i have read with great interest some of the stories about very recent "elder" schools from actual attendees.
i thought some might like to know about my experience in one of these in the very early 70's.
i was pioneering where the need was great (clinton, okla.) and was made assistant cong.

Would you allow me to host some at my site? I had the same idea some time ago and am showing some cartoons right now at my site, but they're drawn by a friend.

When I remember this book I feel like laughing. Even when I was a die hard jdub, I thought the interpretations were a bit too much...
Now imagine doing that type of stretch for the entire book of Revelation... oh boy... holy crap! -

The art of screw pushing
by wannaexit inwell i still go out in service.
so does my husband.
we decided that since we have to keep up with this facade we might as well have some fun .. so we go up to a door and pretend to push the doorbell.

Has any householder ever come out and said "what you doin pushing that screw? Isn't it easier to push the button?" ha ha hah. -

I don't have any information, but I think this is important, as it has the pontential to become a propaganda tool for the WTBTS.
I think we should inform the producers about the real JW religion they don't know.

Do you think that JW's leaders are going to announce a new date in 2006?
by booker-t ini was reading a thread here the other and it mentioned that the assembly for 2006 will be "delivance at hand".
is this going to be like 1974 when every jw's thought the end was going to come in 1975?
i don't think jw's leaders would be that stupid again and build jw's for another date-setting letdown.
-
observador
However they will make allusions to a date and when it is not fulfilled claim that it was the brothers & sisters fault for reading into something they never said.
Well, that's exactly what they did to 1975.
They can't put out a clear and unmistakable date for the big A. That would simply be too much. Even die hard JWs would feel the strong smell...

I am really amazed by the number of books that have been released lately on Jehovah's Witnesses.
I've lost count.
Is it just me, or there realy has been an explosion of releases in the last couple of years?
