  NEW FLIP FLOP Alert! My Research on New Leaven Understanding

  earlier there was a thread stating at the annual meeting a new understanding of the leaven in matthew 13:33 was to be announced indicating it no longer would be understood to mean something corrupt but rather something righteous.

  this led me to research (just using the wt cd) what the past thoughts on it had been - this is not the first reversal on the understanding - first see what the watchtower had to say in the late 1800's (as stated in the 75 watchtower):.

  i just received an email from a friend with pictures of what seems to be a wt-approved or wt-connected used car business.. this friend is telling us that the cars being sold are those previously used by circuit overseers.

  he's giving us some links and pictures, but i haven't had the time to investigate, so i thought to put them up here for discussion.. the web address of the business is, quite appropriately, www.circuitleasing.com.

  I don't know about you guys but I did not sign any contract letting Danny to represent me & my wife. His decisions are his. Mine are mine.

  It is not about us vs. them. Stop the groupthink and borg mentality.

  I couldn't have said that better.

  Come on, people! We are blowing this out of proportions. We have to see this as it is: a sad incident created by a person who crossed the line. Danny did and he'll handle it.

  I also have seen a lot of "I hope he gets a good lawyer", "this will cost him thousands of dollars and maybe jail", "jury has no sympathy for assailants" and similar calls.

  Again, come on! We are judging the man before he's even charged. Unbelievable! Let him handle the problem he created, IF charges are pressed.

  I also hear "Oh, Simon should distance himself from such types". I almost want to laugh at that one. Fortunately, Simon is a grown man and knows better.

  As Gerard well said, let's stop the group thinking, friends. We are all individuals who are individually responsible for the things we do; let's view the incident for what it is and move on.

  Confirmed! I am absolutely not smart at all.

  My impulse answer was "neither way. Isn't that the back of the bus?" Then, if you asked me "how 'bout those wheels?", I'd say "I don't know. In UK they have strange buses".

  thanks for sharing this book with me.

  although i'm sure this book is accurate and these things have happened within the governing body, it did happen a long time ago and even the "annoited" are imperfect men.. after alot of thought and prayer i chose to stay a witness- an active witness to my ability which is now limited.

  Interesting that really serious things happened in the early 80s and she dismisses them as "a long time ago", and yet some basic and important things for JW beliefs supposedly happened as early as 1914 and she apparently sees no problem with them.
  
  She apparently sees no problem us living almost 100 years after the "last days" of this "wicked system of things" started, and still no big A.

  "The rampant wars, crime, terror, disease, earthquakes and famines that have afflcited modern man remind us that Jesus is ruling in heaven right now."

  To anyone but a dyed-in-the-wool dub, this has got to sound ridiculous. It makes Jesus sound like an inept ruler worse than Bush (hard to imagine, but yes).

  There is an even more ridiculous statement that makes no sense whatsoever to anyone, except to the most die-hard JW:

  When Jesus' rule began, "war broke out in heaven." The result? Satan and his demons were hurled to the earth, triggering an era of woe.

  Let me see: so when a war broke out in heaven, there was nowhere else in the whole universe to send Satan to but the Earth?!!! Even my seven year old niece can't comprehend that one.

  the meaning of "soon", "near", "very soon", "very near", "just on the horizon", "just around the.

  corner", etc.

  This reminds me of what happens the other day when a JW friend said something like "Jehovah's new system of things are coming very soon now", and then I asked "would you be able to say with a 5 year margin of error when it will come?".
  
  He said "no".
  
  I said "how about a 10 year margin of error?".
  
  He said "no".
  
  "How about 20 year margin of error?".
  
  He said "No, because we'd be going against Christ's words that nobody knows the day or hour".
  
  Then I said: "How then do you know it is very soon now?".
  
  Then we started talking about computers.
