I am really amazed by the number of books that have been released lately on Jehovah's Witnesses.
I've lost count.
Is it just me, or there realy has been an explosion of releases in the last couple of years?

A Letter That Touched Her Heart, from the Branch Office, to the CO's. Wife.
by Blueblades infrom the watchtower january 1, 2006. a letter that touched her heart.. one traveling overseer remembers well one occasion when he and his wife returned to their accommodations after a very chilly winter day in the ministry.
he says: "my wife was cold and discouraged, and she told me that she felt she couldn't continue.
'how much better', she said,'it would be to serve in the full-time ministry with a congregation, stay in one place, and conduct our own bible studies.

"I deferred any decision, saying that we would continue for the rest of the week and see how she felt by then."
Right, right, right.... humn...
He certainly wrote to the Society telling about the situation, and was just waiting for the back-patting letter to arrive; and it did just in time...
Now, the Society won't tell JWs about that little detail. The result is that JWs will be left with the impression that Jah miraculously provided the needed encourajement.
Only in the WT world! A racket indeed!

WTS Reason for Not Missing Meetings?
by ICBehindtheCurtain inthis is regarding the january watchtower article that is on another thread, which is about avoiding missing meetings for work, i posted this under that thread but thought i might begin a new topic to get your views on this:
it's really enfuriating, that they keep putting out this bs, i know firsthand of many r&f that either quit jobs or did not accept jobs that would compromise meeting attendance all the while their families were in need, the brainwashed mentality was "if we put jehovah first wts first, jehovah will provide", yeah right, as someone else mentioned what about when the car breaks down, or a child gets sick, etc?
then they are pretty much up the creak without a paddle.

Controlling the flock is numero uno to these guys. They don't give a damn how many Witnesses burn out, suffer from depression, exhaustion or have nervous breakdowns due to the ridiculous amount of time you're supposed to spend at meetings, studying for meetings and service-----the status quo cannot be challenged. You'd think with meeting attendance at an all time low in so many places, they might stop and say, "hey, maybe there's just too many meetings." They won't. Instead, they blame the R&F for "lack of appreciation" and being "spiritually weak".
I think they see those problems, but the status quo cannot be changed too quickly.
Remember when Conventions were 10 days; and then 7; and then 5; and then 3 and 1/2? Now it is only 3!
Remember when one would have to spend 90 hours peddling magazines to "regular pioneer" ? Now it is 70.
Remember when the mid-week meeting was 2 hours? Now it is 1:45!
Remember when Asleep! was bi-weekly? Now it is monthly!
The WT organization is one that changes SO GRADUALLY that sometimes we fail to notice...

"While the answers to the section "From This Issue" will be found throughout the magazine, the answers to most of the other questions will appear on a designated page in the same issue, where they will be printed upside down."
Awake! has finally targeted a chunck of readers long forgotten: TRAIN COMMUTERS.
Watch now for those large bins on the end station being all filled up.
What a wonderful provision from Jehovah's Organization!!!

Please folks, anyone here who knows how to contact the fund administrator(s), send the information to them; to show what the WT really is.
It's simply unbelievable the WT is trying to collect money.

i dont get the mags anymore, but im glad to be able to keep up with what's being said in the wt through your weekly comments on the wt study.. i would think it might get tiresome to wade through the bs in the articles week after week.

Overall, this is a very good idea.
"You can create your own blog or home page"
I didn't see the Blog section there... I've been thinking of creating my own for some time now.
When the feature is available, would Portuguese be ok?
