dog the bounty hunter
by BR25 ini wanted to know everyones opinion on him losing his show and his comments.. first of all i do think his comments warrant the cancellation of his show, but it should have never got that far.
when you are talking with family it should never leave the house.
it should stay behind closed doors.

He should have stuck to his guns and explained that he wasn't a racist on Larry King show; that it was just a moment of rage, normal to any human. I think most people would have understood. But, no! He went on to cry his a$$ off and ask for forgiveness to anyone and everyone with a half ear to listen.
He was so pathetic!
Not a dog at all. Just a pathetic chicken.

Special Needs talk at our Hall tonite...
by CaptainSchmideo intalk was about appreciating jehovah's provisions, something like that.... the po gave the talk.
apparently, after the last co visit, our congo got a letter from headquarters, informing us that our numbers are wayyyy down.
several inactive publishers, several more irregular, poor meeting attendance, and our hourly average is less than the national average (8.3 compared to 9.9).

I recall as a child growing up in the congo in the early 50's the Quota Board that was ever present in the front corner of the hall. Each month the congo servant would go over it with everyone. Back then you needed 10 or 12 hours a month etc etc. The society was booming and new people were coming in in droves. I don't recall that many special need talks back then. The only special needs were when they announced that so and so had been reproved for such and such. Then a talk would be given about what they had done, and they would be publicly humilated.
Exactly! I love when someone reminds me of what or who we were or did. I hate the short memory thing.

they will be releasing audio versions of the magazines online for download.. i think the service is supposed to begin january 1st.. https://www.jw.org/index.html?option=ybtvr2.
i have no idea what they hope to accomplish by requiring a password.

So when and where does one get the password and account id from?
That's a good question. The WT will soon learn that there are quite a few non-believers and non-loyal ones in their ranks.

Hello Jeffery. Welcome to the forum. Please feel free to share with us more of your JW life, if you so wish.
We all go through several phases similar to those marmot went through.

Is JWD #1.....My Therapist....his first advice on JW's, me, and divorce
by oompa ini have told my new therapist so much about jwd, some of the insightful comments here, and how much it has helped me and other dubs that we both now wonder if there are other jw help sites.
i really don't know as this was the first and only one i ever found, and it was just what i needed.. he has pegged me well as impatient, and knows i was vocal about my wake-up from jw.
his advice right now is to back off totally on trying to help any others, and i have told him that many here have said no one will wake-up until they want to for some reason.

Looks like you have some tough decisions to make, oompa.
If you go back for "social" reasons, you may actually complicate your situation because of the message you'd send your wife. I'm no expert, but from experience, keeping your mouth shut, adopting a non-confrontational approach toward the JW religion, showing your wife you love her for who she is, showing you'll support her even her decision to stay in, etc... combined with an improvement in your overall outlook in life, will help her to see that leaving the religion isn't the end of the world.
Remember, being a JW is being a defender of an ideology. You would have to communicate to her without words, subtly, that that ideology is flawed. Going back for "social" reasons, unless it is part of a bigger strategy, as described above, sends her the wrong message.
Wish you the best in whatever you decide.

Annual Meeting! 3 New Corporations! Transfer $$$!
by MDS inat the most recent annual meeting of jehovah's witnesses, proxy holders, and corporate officers and affiliates of the 3 existing corporations of jehovah's witnesses, under the auspices of the governing body membership of 13, namely, .
the new york corporation, watchtower society.
the pennslyvania corporation, watch tower society (parent corporation).

Oh my God. That's a 7 year old thread, and nothing of what the poster said came to pass.
Why?
Because the Watchtower Society has 120 year experience in the business of making changes. They do it so gradually that it seems like nothing has changed to the average JW.
Besides, in my opinion, the creation of legal corporations is done for another reason: tax reduction/protection and/or maybe cost reduction.
WT doesn't need to create those corporations to help effect changes. Take the blood issue, for instance. If the WT just keeps quiet about it, 30 years from now it can simply claim that this has been a conscience matter for all this time, and the JW then will not even remember that this was a MAJOR JW doctrine.
