my experience with abuse allegations here in Minnesota. Org. opposes to seeking help in the mental health field, Considered worldly. Right along with dealing with alcoholism. Being discouraged getting help. All one had to do do was pray.
12) Hospital. I got involved with the Jw's through my ex-husband 1971. I was working at St. Mary's Hospital. I was told that I could'nt work because of the religion and blood issues.
I hope this answer your .

there are soooooooo many victims (although i prefer to use the word: survivor) of sexual abuse coming out of the borg and telling their horrible stories, including my own family.
i have read stories that made me feel either angry, frustrated, revolted, furious.............but they all made me feel sad.. in every story it seems that the wts, elders and jws in general have let the child and/or family down.
from my own personal experience i can say that the elders in the congregation where my child was abused didn't do anything to protect other kids, and certainly didn't show love and support for my child or our family.
Hi Bliss:
I don't know if this fits in? I have a different twist with my encounter with the committee . I was pushed out of the org. for standing up and not tolerating domestic abuse. Shortly after I da'ed self. Some months later sexual abuse in volving my children. I ran into one of the elders in grocery store. I told him about the sexual abuse with my ex- husband and 2 stepsons. Legal action taken on my part.
He apologized to me for pushing me out of the org. My ex left a sour taste in their mouths. Realized they were being manipulated by my ex. I knew eventually the truth would come around. It was a matter of me sitting in the weeds.
I never did hear from the committee at all. I would'nt have gone back in the firing line. My spirit was broken at the time.
Interesting my youngest was not df'ed for being involved in a worldly relationship and being pg. Because the elders did a botched up job with me.
Nice chatting with Bliss on chat the other day. To acknowledge the pain you and your family are experiencing. If its okay to burn a candle for you all. If you ever need a sounding board. Just holler! OCW

how many of us here are in the position to help jws seeking answers to their doubts and questions, as well as ex-jws who may be wondering if they've made the right decision?do you feel you have the resources to answer their questions on jw doctrines?how about providing emotional and/or spiritual help?and if you are in the position to do so, would you?.
i often wonder just how many people are out there, jws and ex-jws alike, who need someone to talk to about their jw experiences, to ask questions and find assurance.
how many of them are unaware that there are people available to help them?
I appreciate you posting regarding support systems. I think its a great idea. We all on this site have various experiences and alot to offer to others who are in need.
One of my goals is to be a support person for SilentLambs in Minnesota.
I would 'nt be a resource for those engaging with doctrines and the bible. There are many other related issues regarding alcohol and chemical, sexuality , domestic abuse, rape ,sexual abuse and family issues. The list can go on. Knowing resources in the state for people that can be plugged into. and a resource for dealing with cult issues.
I think its a great idea to have it availabe for each state.
you can count on me in for the state of Minnesota. Also the land of treatment centers besides the land of 10,000 lakes.
Keep me posted. Thanks OCW

Courage
"Courage has roots. She sleeps on a futon on the floor and lives close to the ground.
Courage looks you straight in the eye. She is not impressed with powertrippers, and she knows first aid.
Courage is not afraid to weep and she not afraid to pray. Even when she is not sure who she is praying to. When courage walks, it is clear that she has made the journey from loneliness to solitude. The people told me she is stern were not lying; they just forgot to mention she is kind."
I wanted to share. This was given to me in my early recovery.
