This scripture is the one that Russell used to establish 1872/1873 as being 6,000 years of man's existence from Adam's creation.
Up until the early 1960's WT accepted this timeline. When Freddie Franz came up with his entire "1975 is the real date of 6,000 years of man's existence from Adam" nonsense, WTs excuse for using the old, flawed timeline was that they were the victims of a "poor translation" of Acts 13 in the KJV. In other words, it was god's fault. It was bad enough god gave WT a Bible that was inaccurate, but he didn't bother to tell his "sole channel of communication on earth", his "faithful slave", the WT, that they had been wrong for the last 100 years. Of course, 1975 is also wrong.

I do not know all the answers to your questions below, but my understanding of the Jah-Jireh Charity Homes within the UK they do have some connection to the UK Branch Office. As when a sister applied for residential employment within one of these homes she had to have her application form endorsed by our body of elders, they then sent the application form to the UK Branch Office before being sent to the home she applied for.
They state above that they are not a part of the Britain corporation. Questions remain however: Such as:
Are they funded at all by Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of Pennsylvania or any of it's subsidiaries ?
What exactly constitutes "long-time faithful servants of Jehovah"? What if someone had been disfellowshipped and returned after 5 years in the 1980's?
Who decides who is "faithful" and who is not?
Why would they drain social services of "the world" first if this "theocratic" arrangement is better?
If funds from the "World Wide Work" were to be used in such a way in Britain and the USA couldn't brothers donating in poor countries begin to feel "exploited" by "richer" countries?
What about older ones who just now learn the "truth" and are in need? Why should they be turned away? Didn't Jesus say the "wages" would be the same for those working "all day" as for those working only an "hour"?
