Besides, why be honest or considerate towards someone who's going to be killed by Jehovah™ anyday now at Armageddon? That would be silly.

The CO visit this week he says" In August..."

up until 5 years ago, the co used to work up their own parts for specfic congregations in their circuits.

everything is up to script, in other words, every co in the country are givings the same talks in the local congregations they visit.

what got me to cringe is when he said at the meeting, trying to encourage everyone to pioneer this august; he said :" you know this october it will be 100 years since gods kingdom began ruling, remember what happen when joshua told the israelites to march around jericho on the seventh day, and what happened when they let out a great war cry?

Congregation Pledge Disgusted Elder

at the meeting the other night, the elder who had to read the announcements, which included the $$ info for the new donation arrangement seemed downright disgusted as he read the announcements and asked for the vote.

he said, "well, here is another organizational change" as he read the letter about the discontinuation of the 2nd meeting during co visit.

then after they voted, he said if you have any questions ask this other elder as if he wanted nothing to do with it.

FYI: from the BOE letter dated 3/29/14:

"The elders in congregations without loans or those having standing resolutions to support Kingdom Hall construction worldwide should take a confidential survey of all publishers to determine the amount of the new resolution. This can be done by passing out slips of paper to be filled out anonymously by the publishers indicating how much they are able to contribute monthly toward local congregation expenses, including the resolution to support Kingdom Hall and Assembly Hall construction worldwide. At the time the survey is taken, it may be helpful to also review with the congregation the average monthly operating expenses that need to be covered.

....All other resolutions, such as those for contributing to the worldwide work, the Convention Fund, the Traveling Overseer Assistance Arrangement, and the Kingdom Hall Assistance Arrangement, should continue to be honored.

....Each congregation should establish its own resolution to contribute to Kingdom Hall and Assembly Hall construction worldwide and submit the resolved amount with its monthly remittance to the branch office."

I disagree...Swiss Cheese and Swiss Yogurt are very easy to get where I live. I'm not aware of any restrictive export laws. LOL.

Shouldn't the title of the campaign be, if WT truly believed its own rhetoric, "100 years of Christ's reign- Armageddon is imminent (again) !"

@ Seraphim: reason and logic don’t work in the USA when it comes to this subject, hence you have a problem.

Statistically, the availability of guns has little correlation to the level of gun violence. Some of the most well-armed countries in the world (ex: Switzerland) also have the lowest crime rates. What makes the difference is the attitude toward violence of the citizenry in general, not a particlular method of violence, like using a gun. Gun violence, or any violence, is a symptom of a much deeper issue, not the cause.

If all guns were made illegal, and certain individuals resorted to using steak knives to attack people, would you suggest outlawing steak knives? Or, after outlawing steak knives as a result of escalating knife violence, these same people began killing people with rocks, would you suggest outlawing rocks?

Incidentally, for your information, criminals do not obey the law. Shocking but true. If guns are outlawed, criminals still have them while law-abiding people, because they obey the law, have been disarmed. Legislation does not fix the underlying problem.

If the end is so close that October is possibly an outer range for this system, why did WT even bother selling all their Brooklyn real estate, 17 Branches worldwide, and begin the Warwick project that will take several years to complete???

Instead of gaining a deeper foothold in this world by financial investments, shouldn't the GB have been making an all-out final effort to warn the world like Harold Camping did by buying massive amounts of tv, newspaper and billboard ads?

Re: Midweek meetings during visit of circuit overseer

Dear Brothers:

This is to inform you that effective September 1, 2014, there will be only one midweek congregation meeting during the visit of the circuit overseer. The meeting will be scheduled on Tuesday evening and will include the Theocratic Ministry School, the Service Meeting, and a service talk by the circuit overseer. This adjustment should help ensure that the arrangement for weekly family worship is maintained even during that busy week of theocratic activity. The material for the Congregation Bible Study that week should be considered on a personal basis, perhaps during family worship."
