Local Needs 07/08/2014
by piztjw ini don't know whether i should laugh, or run screaming into the night.. tonights "local needs" was titled "are you following 'the slave' "?.
the theme scripture was 1 peter 2: 21. it was applied that by following jesus steps closely we would then be able to keep up with 'the slave'.
now i don't know about others, but if i were to follow one person and that meant to keep up with someone else, it would mean that the person i was following was following the other person.

congregation hours are falling.... "evidently", "surely" and "apparently" due to the fact that so many are "forgetting" how to fill out their slips
.
It can't possibly be that JWs aren't going D to D as much. Too unthinkable for WT.
The FS slip is probably the least complicated form WT has. If JWs lack the basic skills to fill it out then they've reached a new low level of stupid.

33 JWs die in a typhoon in the Philipines (27 as a direct result of the GB's direction). No Jehovah in sight for that one. "Time and unforseen circumstance" or "well, this is life in Satan's old world", is the explanation from JWs.
But, at least Jehovahâ„¢ was Johnny-On-The-Spot to arrange good weather in NY over last summer so the rNWT could be printed.
God sure has his priorities f**ked up.

If you get good, you thank God for it.
If you get bad, you ask God for strength and courage to surmount your obstacles.
.
This can be done successfully without involving fictional characters or make believe scenarios.

What Specifically Are the "Sins" Due to Imperfection that We Commit Each Day ?
by RubaDub inas jw's we are constantly reminded that we sin each day due to imperfection.
but when bringing up the specifics, i have never gotten a good answer.. several times i have even mentioned to others of my getting up on a sunday morning, reading the daily text, studying the watchtower for the afternoon meeting, driving to the meeting (under the speed limit), answering at the meeting, (not using more than one towel in the restroom), going out in service later in the afternoon, coming home, having dinner, and then in the evening preparing for a part for the ministry school.. i didn't recall scheming in my heart about doing something bad or anything like that.. so, specifically, where does the "sin" come in?
and if what i did was sinful, how can i improve on it?

Well, you see, Jehovahâ„¢ has such hatred toward his own human creation (made in his image, no less) that the mere act of breathing, blinking or sneezing is offensive to Him. As an outlet for all His dismal failures (the creation of human beings foremost) Jehovahâ„¢ has no recourse other than to declare everything a sin, therefore justifying whatever punishment he feels like doling out.

@ OEJ: Finding a roll of toilet paper in the street while in service (apparently the pioneer sister had just run out and couldn't afford groceries for another couple days)
.
So the Holy Spirit couldn't give her food but did provide toilet paper? I'm completely underwhelmed!
At least if this JW had gone to a Catholic Mission (a part of Satan's world and false religion) they would've given her food. Holy Spirit's contribution? Toilet paper.
Let me guess HS's provision for something to eat: she looked under the bench at a bus stop on her way home and found a piece of old chewing gum? God be praised!

JW from Guatamala: "it's nice to know the history of our organization".
.
Laughably, I bet he doesn't know a damn thing about WT history, except for the trivia he learned on his Bethel tour.
Mention 1799, 1874 or Beth Sarim and he will give you a deer-in-the-headlights stare.

It's laughable that WT encourages JWs to use the latest technology, like iPads, all while still going from door to door.
Typical WT: trying to swim laps while dragging a boat anchor.
The problem is that the nearly 1,000.00 brand new desktop PC that was forced down your throats three months ago with the sales pitch that it was all that was needed is not capable of connecting to the big screen and projector. So now you get to buy a brand new laptop, and anyone who wants the PC can buy it
A cong. I used to be associated with does this same thing with real estate. Purchase land for a new KH, then find out it's not zoned for that use, the location isn't so great after all, etc. Sell it, take a huge loss, buy another parcel. Repeat. Squandering of funds and never any accountability. But what do you expect from janitors pretending they are Donald Trump or some techie guru?

@ Pistoff: Great stuff, wish I could get my relatives to read the old watchtower writings and see how crazy they are
.
I've had these conversations with JW relatives and had them read directly from publications like Harp of God, Re: 1799 was the beginning of the last days and 1874 was Jesus' Return.
All I got for a response was, "so what? We've "progressed" a lot since then". A JW simply cannot put 2+2 together and see this information and WT teachings for what they are: pure nonsense, and proof this never was god's chosen religion (if god actually existed).
A JW simply switches cognitive dissonance into high gear and pretends all is well in Never Never Land.
