God Says Scripture is Enough

all scripture is inspired of god and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, so that the man of god may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.. .

as jw's we must have read that scripture a thousand times.

You see, Perry, your failure is fully attributable to the fact that you were only trying instead of doing, all the while waiting for god/the tooth fairy/fill-in- the-blank-with-your-fictional-character-of-choice here, to do your work for you. Even if the whole 'god does the heavy lifting for you' concept was true, why would you feel any desire to serve a god who created you so woefully inadequate that you can't get yourself through life without his having to change your diapers for you everyday???

Elders Can't Simply Go Back to Being Ministerial Servants...

as a currently serving "awake" elder caught in the web of family, spouse, employer, etc.

etc..... i have often wondered why an elder cannot simply drop back to ministerial servant if he so desired (because of stress, circumstances, health).. on paper a currently serving elder in good standing more than qualifies to be a ms. that is obviously the case by their own hierarchy structure and definitions of qualification.. but...under their current arrangement....theoretically a man could give a district convention talk one week to 10,000 people, step down as an elder the following day due to stress, and not "qualify" to give a 5 min part on the next week's service meeting in front of 50 people.

doesn't make a lot of sense.. so my question is this.....why do you think the wt forces a man to drop all the way "down" to publisher if he no longer wants to serve as an elder?.

Because WT must get its pound of flesh, and humiliation of the individual is of utmost importance to WT's methodology. Allowing an elder to simply step down to MS wouldn't serve WT's purpose of completely eviscerating a man, so it knocks him down to the rank of publisher/also-ran/has been/loser to teach him a lesson.

there are certain "junk" words that litter our brain, pollute our vocabulary, and play fast and loose with our reasoning.. one of those junk words is spirit.. the words means nothing, but extrapolations of its metaphorical pretense are everywhere!.

we have five sense connected with our body link to brain.. hearing, vision, taste, touch, sense of smell.. with those five we are in touch with things as they exist.. reality is what it is.. through technology, science has been able to amplify our senses with microscopes, telescopes, x-rays, mri's, space probes, atom smashers, etc.. but--i assure you--none of this has produced evidence of "spirit.".

the last thing that happens when you die is this.

RELIGION's method of arriving at "truth" is :

1. Smoke, inject or swab a hallucinogenic substance,

2. Latch onto the first wacky idea that enters your brain,

3. make a doctrine out of it,

4. claim god gave you the idea,

5. force/hornschwaggle/dupe lots of people into believing you,

6. condemn everyone else who doesn't buy into it (i.e. anyone with an IQ higher than a salad bar).

So Happy to Learn About Homemade Weed Killer

three days ago we mixed up the recipe and sprayed the driveway cracks and several places where the weeds have been hard to get rid of.. today the weeds are dead just like when we've sprayed commercial weed killer.. mix one gallon white vinegar, 1 cup salt, 5 to 6 tablespoons of dawn dishwashing liquid.

note: don't spray if it's fixin' to rain, wait for dry weather so the stuff will stay on the weeds.

and don't spray where you want anything to grow ever!.

Local Needs 07/08/2014

i don't know whether i should laugh, or run screaming into the night.. tonights "local needs" was titled "are you following 'the slave' "?.

the theme scripture was 1 peter 2: 21. it was applied that by following jesus steps closely we would then be able to keep up with 'the slave'.

now i don't know about others, but if i were to follow one person and that meant to keep up with someone else, it would mean that the person i was following was following the other person.

congregation hours are falling.... "evidently", "surely" and "apparently" due to the fact that so many are "forgetting" how to fill out their slips

It can't possibly be that JWs aren't going D to D as much. Too unthinkable for WT.

The FS slip is probably the least complicated form WT has. If JWs lack the basic skills to fill it out then they've reached a new low level of stupid.

33 JWs die in a typhoon in the Philipines (27 as a direct result of the GB's direction). No Jehovah in sight for that one. "Time and unforseen circumstance" or "well, this is life in Satan's old world", is the explanation from JWs.

But, at least Jehovah™ was Johnny-On-The-Spot to arrange good weather in NY over last summer so the rNWT could be printed.

God sure has his priorities f**ked up.

If you get bad, you ask God for strength and courage to surmount your obstacles.

This can be done successfully without involving fictional characters or make believe scenarios.
