  New JW... One Can Only Dream

  here are a few of my wishful thoughts that, if came true, would make me enjoy my religion even more:.

  no more end of month time reporting.. delete one of the 1-day circuit assemblies.

  may replace with a 'special meeting', such as the one we had last year.. eliminate friday from the big convention.. no more international conventions!

  The second school is just redundant, busy work for all, really.

  Doesn't this describe virtually all WT-mandated activities for JWs?

  Besides, WT doesn't really do away with any activity. Remember when the Book Study night was eliminated? Did WT tell JWs to enjoy their night off? No. That evening now became "Family Worship Night", and in a very real sense, became much more cumbersome and time-consuming than the book study. In fact, WT made it a point immediately that FWN was to be used for what was essentially just another meeting.

  Reform expulsion policy. May announce somebody's no longer being a JW, but just take away privileges. Do not shun; only limited association with person.

  So a slow death instead of a quick one? Yeah, what a positive change that would be.

  Why should WT decide for anyone who they may or may not associate with?

  Oh what a celebration that will be for so many!

  Sounds like you actually don't like your religion now. Why would any superficial, meaningless changes make it enjoyable ? If Many JWs would 'celebrate' a cutting back on "Theocratic Activity", doesn't it mean they are hypocrites for pretending to like it now? Isn't all the activity that JWs are obligated to do allegedly mandated by Jehovah through the GB?

  TL: What about actually teaching what the bible says instead of what they would like it to say?

  Since when did this ever matter to a JW? LOL.

  i've been drinking 1 tbs with a glass of water twice daily for digestion for about 3 weeks now.

  i've found it helps, but it also acts as an appetite suppressant; i've lost several pounds since using it.

  i'm consuming fewer calories because i'm just not as hungry as before.

  For acid reflux I found that reducing carbs helps me. Antacids didn't work for me, you actually need some acid to help you digest your food, I got carried away eating tums and it actually made me worse. Of course everyone is different, but if you are using antacids and/or reflux meds and it doesn't help it might be worth a try.

  Heartburn/acid reflux is often the result of your stomach not producing enough digestive (hydrochloric) acid. This is why taking an antacid, like Tums, makes it worse; you already have an acid deficiency and you just neutralized what little you have remaining by taking an antacid.

  A simple test a naturopath/homeopath uses to determine if you are producing too much or too little digestive acid is this: when you have an attack of heartburn, drink 1-2 Tablespoons of ACV. If your heartburn gets worse, you are producing too much acid. If you get immediate relief, the cause of your heartburn is that you don't produce enough digestive acid.

  Skinny dipping in the new order?

  the jw's are quick to tell you that when jehovah has finished kicking the ass of those who do not acknowledge the teachings of the watchtowers governing body in new york state, that those who survive will live forever in a restored paradise on earth.

  the same goes for those who are resurrected during the 1000 year reign of jesus and survive satan being let loose "for a little while" at the end.. they are also quick to tell you that everything will be just as it was for adam and eve before the latter decided she needed a fruit fix and then got her hubby high on it as well.. and when you view the illustrations in their publications showing what they view this paradise to be, it shows a world of lush color.

  the deep greens of all the trees and grass, the clean blue skies, puffy white clouds and tables covered in a plethora of fresh fruits and vegetables representing just about every major color.

  If JWs take care of their bodies in the New Earth the way they do in this current life, I think there'll be more chunky dunking than skinny dipping.

  So according to him we will all be naked running around doint nothing but finding a bush

  Being that everyone will be naked, finding bush should really not be a challenge.

  but, strangely, through such 'bible reading,' they have reverted right back to the apostate doctrines that commentaries by christendom's clergy were teaching 100 years ago.

  BOC: Ok. . . . so enforcing legal minutiae regarding downloading "intellectual property" is more important than spreading the message of gods kingdom earth wide?

  Exactly. If WT has the only "life-saving" message the whole world needs to hear before Armageddon comes (anyday now, "soon"), why is WT limiting the use of the info ? They should be happy that people want to help them spread the message-for free, no less.

  You mean the same Bible commentaries WT has in its Bethel Library and quotes from and uses regularly (because WT doesn't have any of its own scholars)?

  i have heard it many times and i just don't know what to do with it.

  Space Madness: If belief in God makes me a better person, isn't that enough for me to justify my belief?

  Religion doesn't always make people better people. Ever hear of ISIS?

  And, belief in god makes you "better" compared to what?

  .

  In regard to the topic, if a JW learned WT wasn't the "Truth", would they still:

  > refuse a life-saving blood transfusion for themselves or their children?

  > shun a family member who has a different view of life?

  > choose not to attend college simply because some higher up tells them not to?

  > shelve their dreams ?

  etc.

  How exactly do these choices constitute the "best way" of life?

  Isn't this the very thing JWs condemn people in other religions for saying??

  "Yes, I know my church teaches false doctrines, doesn't always follow the Bible, gets involved in wars and politics, etc., but I like being a (Catholic; Baptist; Mormon, etc, etc)...it's the best way to live".
