Huh. So WT castigates science for polluting the earth with technology and gadgets... while WT simultaneously encourages JWs to buy iPads, use JW.Org and proceeds with a massive worldwide (unnecessary) building campaign?

Isn't this a little bit like hypocritically protesting against Big Oil... but driving to the protest rally in your SUV powered by an internal combustion engine?

You and WT can posture all you want, abiathar... I ain't buyin' it.

This vindicates the core-teaching of JW that God’s Kingdom is the ONLY remedy which they have been CONSISTENTLY proclaiming from their very inception!

You mean the same kingdom WT said was going to destroy this entire world "wholesale" in the year 1914? Then in 1915? Then 1925? Then 1975? All within the generation that was 15 years-old in 1914? Then 10 years-old? Then born in 1914? Then within the generation of an 'overlapper' of someone who may have known someone who heard of someone that might have been born in 1914?

The only thing consistent about WT core teachings is their inconsistency. And your arguments here are as untenable as the arguments WT has been blundering their way through for 133 years.

Wrong on both counts, abiathar.

WT teachings are constantly challenged and exposed as untenable ...you may have noticed it happens here everyday.

This is especially lauaghable, considering WT itself has changed at least two of its most 'core' doctrines recently: re-defining the identitiy of the faithful and discreet slave (again), and concocting an overlapping generation (this is the 9th redefinition of what "generation" means).

30 years?!?! WTF ! 30 YEARS?! Again I ask- WTF ? !

That's the best the all-powerful, "loving" god Jehovah could do for his friend Bill? I'm truly underwhelmed.

"compatible" = she is a JW. That's it. Nothing more.

Bill says: “I have no regrets.” He explains: “I feel blessed because we go out in the ministry together, study together, and worship together. I am happy to meet and associate with my wife’s friends because they are all fellow worshippers of Jehovah. We work on our marriage using Bible principles.”

The Lie: “I have no regrets.” Reality: Bill is now so old he doesn't know what "regrets" means.

Notice that he doesn't say he actually loves his wife and found his soulmate. Nope! His dream girl (old woman) goes to the meetings and door-to-door... that's what Billy dreamed of his entire life. He set the bar so low that disappointment was virtually impossible.

Oh, and she has friends. Wow, Bill. Awesome, dude! You found a keeper.

It's astounding that WT prints this kind of rubbish considering that TMo3 recently said that any JW woman considering marrying a man who is not at least a Ministerial Servant is making a bad decision. A man who is not an MS or elder is not a man.

That, coupled with the laundry list of other rules, written and unwritten, that JWs must adhere to Re: dating/marriage, and WT remains befuddled why JWs are exasperated? JWs don't marry for love... they marry for the Organization. Not a great start.

Is the WT cult going away? No. There will always be gullible people who need someone else to do their thinking for them; there will always be people that guide themselves by fantasy and childish stories rather than grown-up reality.

Is the GB losing their grip? Yes. Fortunately, the ones who see through the nonsense leave the Org, but the GB still holds absolute influence over those that stay...and the cycle of abuse perpetuates ad nauseum.

we in the psychology/sociology field have a saying "when people protest too loud usually they are overcompensating".

i did not understand that when i first started studying psychology but now i understand it completely and it is so true.

when i hear someone constantly bashing something or someone such as gay bashing or ethnic bashing or religion bashing sometimes i wonder what are they hiding.

Ironically, the Bible as it is today, was compiled and canonized by the Catholic Church, the same Catholic Church that WT says is foremost among apostate Christendom.

Odd directions, considering the WT claims to be spreading a "life saving" message that must be preached before the just-around-the-corner, coming-soon-anyday-now event of Armageddon occurs.

simple application of logic to scripture interpretation:.

if two terms mean the same thing it should not change the meaning to exchange one word for the other.. first, jesus lays the foundation for us.

let us read.. luke 6:27-37 "but i say to you who are listening, continue to love your enemies , to do good to those hating you, to bless those cursing you, to pray for those who are insulting you.

What if every time the Watchtower was about to print the word APOSTATE, instead they printed STRAY SHEEP?

Or, simply: fellow human being.

It's best to take religious/Bible references completely out of it. That way a JW might be able to think straight.

Of course, now we've stepped way over the line into The Twilight Zone, right??

Your point is well taken, though, Terry. The constant terminology JWs are hammered with colors their world and shapes their thinking in how they view people. Simple changes would make a huge difference...but said changes run counter to the agenda of WT, Inc. WT isn't in the love and, "can't we all just get along?" business.
