I cried like a baby ♥ Thank you Jehovah for our Wonderful Gift !! I even felt it all the time so soft. One sister even said that she slept with hers.
No doubt the rNWT all she's slept with...ever.
To be fair, only one of those kids is a future pioneer/servent/elder.
My guess is it's the drunk kid on the far right who's taken way too many blows to the head and eats paint chips. What a fine elder he'll make...
i hope i don't come across as judgemental but having read a lot on the current child abuse cases and the different threads on here, i am left wondering why on earth a parent of an abuse victim would go to an elder with the problem first and not straight to police?.
as a parent myself i know that if anything like that happend to my child (this applies to when i was still an active jw as well as now) i would not hesitate in going to the authorities as soon as i found out, it wouldn't of crossed mine or my husbands mind to go to an elder.
maybe after we had reported it but definitely never as the first port of call.
The world is evil. Civil authorities are repeatedly mocked.
This applies only until WT needs something from the world...then suddenly it's a wonderful resource.
Should complement the "JW.Org" lapel pins, tote bags, umbrellas, neckties, rulers, coffee mugs and bumper stickers nicely. Oi Vey.
Watchtower: the religion of chachkies

this popped up on my google alerts at work today and i thought some members might want to help answer( and spread a little seo "truth" !
lol :.
Why go through all the work of walking door-to-door for your candy?
I'd set up a fake "JW.Org" booth and wait for everyone to bring candy to me.
It's the "in" thing to do.

why would it be so difficult to keep out of affairs of personal natures such as these and people simply call the law and deal with these crimes like everyone else does?
WT doesn't have a great record of minding its own business. Know-it-alls tend to have an opinion on everything.

the national organization for jehovah's witnesses was ordered to pay $13.5 million to a san diego man who says he was abused as a child by his bible teacher.
nbc 7's rory devine reports on oct. 30, 2014.
“Jehovah’s Witnesses abhor child abuse bad publicity, getting caught and paying millions in damages and strive to protect children WT's own interests from such acts lawsuits,” the organization said in a statement.
.
Note that when things go south, all JWs are implicated in the bad publicity, not Watchtower. When there's bragging about something good, then WT takes full credit and suddenly forgets about "Jehovah's Witnesses".

There are far more cases hidden due to WT's "gag order" settlements, but three recent cases highlight how badly WT is getting their collective butt kicked. Imagine how bad it really is:
1. Candice Conti: $28 million
2. Campos: $13.5 million
3. Oregon case: $20 million

I wonder how quickly JW donations would dry up if parents knew they were giving the children's inheritance to WT...and all it was paying for is the fallout from decades of stupidity on the part of WT?

happyatlast: The sad thing is that JWs are not told to think for themselves and everything has to be done via thier rules
Essentially, this is the core of a JWs mentality. They are convinced, through massive and relentless indoctrination, that Elders are appointed by god, directed by god, and therefore are so much smarter than everyone else. The JW is convinced that an Elder will use wisdom and do the right thing everytime. It is only after personal experience this same JW realizes what a fallacy this entire concept is.
The sad reality is that the Organization (WT) in general, and the elders in particular, are focused solely on self-preservation, not justice or common sense. Protection of "Mother" supersedes everything else, and, unfortunately, throwing molested children and their parents under a bus is the means that justifies the end.
