"Do not let officials provoke you to step outside your character".
Regrettably, they haven't.
after a thorough investigation and weighing of the evidence the grand jury has decided not to indict the officer.. the reaction so far seems as predicted - people refuse to accept that the result represents justice despite claims that is what they wanted.. there is now violence and vandalism, including gunshots.
let's hope the police contain the troublemakers.. .

it's irrelevent that he was unarmed
A charging man can cover a 25 foot distance in about one second.
Forgetting for a moment that this involved a police officer being charged by a suspect, consider this:
In the United States, stand-your-ground law states that an individual has no duty to retreat from any place they have lawful right to be and may use any level of force, including lethal, if they reasonably believe they face an imminent and immediate threat of serious bodily harm or death.
wal-mart, which pays a top wage of $12.00+ to its full-time employees, is under attack, once again, by its employees and those who would like to unionize them.. i can't speak to the usa, but here in canada, most wal-mart employees are not full time.
it is mostly a part-time employer, so zero benefits.
in my opinion, that makes the $12.00+ look a lot smaller when you envision the actual paycheque.
As far as employees, it's not as simple as just getting a job elsewhere, it's a tight economy and there aren't a lot of jobs out there for lesser qualified workers
This is exactly the point. If Walmart is the only employer (not likely) in your town, then a low-paying job is better than no job. If a person has no education and no skills, then making $7 an hour sounds about right. "Lesser qualified" = less pay.
I guess some people think they should be making $40 an hour for bagging groceries or stocking shelves.

What I want to know is, why doesn't the black community protest about the many black-on-black killings and violence?
What? Be unbiased?
And as expected the black community of Ferguson looted & burned the businesses of innocent Ferguson business owners. On a positive note.....the looters showed no racism as they equally looted & burned businesses no matter the race of the owners.
Really, the best way to improve your life and community is to 1) loot it first, 2) then burn it down. It worked great in the L.A. riots after the Rodney King verdict, too. Equally applied looting is the single best way to remove racial barriers and bring a community together.
Very little of this has to do with race. It has everything to do with a large group of people existing at an extremely low mentality, and the alleged angst over the outcome of a trial is nothing more than an excuse to be lawless and bring more misery to an already miserable life.
If these people were genuine, they'd be just as outraged when a black police officer kills a white criminal...or when a black officer kills a black criminal.
i realise that starting this thread may make me as popular as a ginger stepchild but was there any wts publication that you liked, or at least comfortably tolerated?.
my memory may be deceiving me but i think the greatest man book was pretty good, leaving out the gruesome detail of the crucifixtion and wts doctrine.. also, can anyone tell me the list of books that ray franz authored/co-authored?.
thanks.
Your favourite WTS publication?
This is like asking, "What was your favorite surgery?" LOL.
My favorite is the Revelation Climax book because everything it said came true and it is Biblically accurate.

Because every other retailer is out of business because of Wal Mart's predatory business model
Wouldn't this make Walmart the only business in existence?
I live in an area where their are a lot of Walmarts...and tens of thousands of other businesses (big and small) as well.
Incidentally, Walmart is not unique in its business model. Many big corporations (especially retailers) do the same thing.
.
Just to be clear, I'm not a fan of any big corporation that exploits its employess while the fat cats make $billions in profits. But, I'm equally as annoyed by people who choose to work for these corporations for the low wages they pay, then piss and moan about how little they are paid. If you don't like your job, go work somewhere else. It's pretty simple. If you don't have the skills and education to merit a high-paying job, then either get those skills and education or quit complaining. It's pretty simple.
interesting admission in today's wt: adam may have understood "day" (as in "in the day you eat from it, you will positively die") to be a literal 24-hour period.
i don't think the wt has ever said this before; the usual emphasis is that jah meant it as a figurative day, a day from his standpoint which is 1,000 years (and the article does state that, later).. however, if adam understood god's warning to be carried out in a 24 hour period, and god did nothing to alleviate that, then who did the lying?
actually, regardless of adam's understanding, the question still stands but moving toward an admission of the use of day in that context to be 24-hours only makes the question even more valid.
Adam and Eve only knew of 24 hours a day
This is a projection of modern time-keeping and applying it to people who lived in pre-history (based on A&E being real, only for argument's sake).
The fact is, even if A&E actually existed (they didn't) we in 2014 have no idea how they calculated time in a day, or if they even did it at all. Maybe they didn't give a damn. Pure speculation at best.
....and later learned from not dying "that very day" that GOD's time table was not what they knew and lived day by day.
Pure speculation and wishful thinking. See above.
the time of the end (1975, or thereabouts) might be delayed by Eve's menstrual cycle or something.
A great example of WT delusion and nonsensical ramblings...then making doctrine out of it.
Why not argue (in the same vein of "logic") that the time of the end might be delayed based on when Eve first stubbed her big toe or ate a Kiwi?

Wal-Mart is the biggest employer in America. So a lot of 'adults' (ie, not students, for example) live on a Wal-Mart wage.
Why not just work somewhere else? Problem solved.
found this on a jw group on facebook.. .

bangalore.
The level of WT control and hubris is astonishing.
"The Faithful Slave is the source of our spiritual food".
So, WT no longer gets it first from Jehovahâ„¢?
i just happend to wonder if the current issue had any hidden goodies.
imagine my delight!.
a gold star to the first person to correctly identify the image!.
All I see is really bad fashion.
