Don't pray for us! Pray for my New England Patriots (who eat the Bills for breakfast every year) to go Undefeated and enter the halls of Valhalla! -

2:20 verses 20-22 refer, not to the false teachers themselves, but to their victims. They are people who had reformed but who had not been born again.
That's it SS. I'm going to sick Perry on you! He would no doubt explain easily that JW's have not been" born again", they've just simply promised themselves to be slaves to a human organization and its publishing/real estate Earthly empire interests.
You better spend less time on here and more time making financial transactions with your organization. They need more money to expand their empire!
Also, the majority of those that leave the cult become better people, less judgemental, more tolerant and contribute more to society.

Five reasons:
#1 They consider it a lack of faith to be having children deep in this time of the end. Very few couples are having kids. In fact, many people in their 30s and 40s are refraining from marriage to "seek first the kingdom".
I have seen a couple hide there pregnancy until the sixth month because they were embarrassed to be having children.
#2 Tons of pioneers/publishers are jumping ship moving to where the need is greater in Nepal, Taiwan, China, Mongolia etc. None of the young ones want to stay here because the atmosphere in the congs are restrictive, conservative and repressive.
#3 New growth is almost non-existent. The blood policy is a very sore topic here. Witnesses are well known here for their stance on blood and outsiders find it to be sick and cultish.
#4 Many of those who came in the 60's and 70's are dying off. There is an overall decline in population and an increasingly burgeoning elderly population.
#5 Japanese witnesses are crazy. Yes crazy. So many of them have mental problems and are battling severe depression. They combat this by giving 150% every day until one day they just... disappear and you never see them again. There really is no middle ground here. They are either in Samurai Christian mode or they just completely burn out and fall off the radar quickly.

Your own mortality - It's a hard pill to swallow. I would rather have lived and died than never have lived at all. -

Welcome! Thanks for sharing your excellently written life story. I'm sorry for all the injustice you had to endure. I hope now the sun shines on you and the wind is at your back! Forget the things behind and look forward to the things ahead! -

Had you thought of feeling sorry for the G.B?
by The Rebel ini only bring this to the board, because a friend of mine once said he felt sorry for the footballers who made so much money.
that comment stayed with me, and over the years, the more i thought about that comment the more i agreed with him.. i admit the g.b destroy people's life's and are the sublimation of all that's good in people's life.
there only excuse is a fantazy asylum they claim to believe in.

If pity is what helps you to move on then more power to you. Just be careful that pity doesn't turn into empathy and even sympathy for them having to sleep in the bed that they have happily made.

Feel sorry for them?? They've destroyed people's lives through there fundamentalist interpretations of an ancient collection of scrolls. They've dashed peoples hopes and ambitions. They've gotten fat off the labor of the poor. Feel sorry for their fat asses? When hell freezes over... or maybe when $$Wall$$Kill$$ assets freeze over. Nope not even then, either. -

What death teaches!
by iconoclastic indeath teaches that nothing belongs to us.
no other teachings have been conveyed so clearly, powerfully, and globally.
yet this is the one that is not taken seriously by people in general.

So far I've heard all positive things from you. Surely there are some negative, dubious aspects to BK - otherwise there would be 8 billion members! There are two sides to every coin. How about revealing the other side as well? -

It's not surprising in the least that other religious organizations of similar ilk to the JW's would come on to an exJW site to subtly recruit. Sharks smell blood and know there are wounded ones on here. I'm sure you mean well Icono, but i wouldn't touch that religious group - even with a twelve foot pole. -

I'm a coward.
by cappytan insince the move, it has been so enjoyable to not have jw's breathing down our necks asking why we didn't make the meeting, or having to pretend to be "spiritual" in front of family all the time.. 90% of my week is virtually stress free.
then, my mom calls or texts wanting to talk to her grandkids.
every dang call, she asks about the new congregation, if we went to the meeting, etc.. why can't i tell her to fk off?

I can only deal with my mother in doses. She loves to try and guilt trip me every chance she gets. Don't cut her off. Just deal with her only when important family matters are involved and unavoidable. Also be careful that she isn't brainwashing your kids.
