I Hate the Sound of the Word Jehovah
by cofty inlistening to clips of the latest manipulative video from the watchtower i realised how much i detest that word - jehovah.. sometimes i have thought it would be interesting to observe a meeting or part of a convention.
every time i heard that word i would be unable to stay in my seat.. i have a visceral reaction every time i hear it.
it stands for so much that i have contempt for.

I don't mind it when JW's aren't using it. It's just one modern form out of many forms of the tetragrammaton. -

Which bible character do you hate the most?
by Bonsai inthe more i think about it, the more i feel an extreme dislike for the apostle paul.
he was on par with hitler in his treatment of the jews before he "saw the light".
he replaced jesus teachings of love and mercy with a more legalistic, pharisaical concept of devotion to god.. any evil person can come to believe in god and worship him if the scales were literally and miraculously removed from his eyes.

We talk a lot about conditional friends on here
by cappytan inso, when people post about being shunned by their friends, i've heard several posters say things like, "their friendship is conditional.
real friendships aren't conditional.".
i'm sorry, but that just isn't really true.. if you and i were friends, there are conditions.

Great thread. All my thoughts have already been expressed. Money, politics and especially religion have divided humans since the beginning of time. -

"Old Man of the Mountain" was a jagged profile of a man's face jutting out from the side of Cannon Mountain in Franconia, New Hampshire. It collapsed in 2003.

Has anyone tried using gold and metal detectors?
by EdenOne ini'm thinking about trying out a new hobby.
in my country there are plenty of places that are geologically suitable for the presence of gold nuggets.
in fact, several gold mines have been historically explored from the days of the romans until present day.. at the same time, i love archaeology and history and there are many possible unexplored archaeological sites near me that might merit a superficial survey.

I've always wanted to buy one and try it.
Like Disposable Hero said, bottle digging is fun, too. I remember when I was in junior high school I found an old 19th century dump that was exposed by the side of a lake by erosion. I used to go there every day after school and dig up old medicine/spirits bottles and sell them at the antique shop. My parents never gave me any allowance, so it was a great way to make some pocket money.

Stephen King. He provided so many laughs and good distractions through his books during some tough times in my life. No other author can keep you on the edge of your seat like he can.
Harrison Ford. What an amazing man.
Fred Franz. Just kidding!
