Labels are NOT arguments
by Coded Logic ini love muslims - which is why i hate mainstream islam.
history has categorically shown us that people are better off when there's separation of church and state, freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and women's equality - all of which mainstream islam is diametrically opposed to.
and criticizing islam doesn't make me an "islamophobe".

Vidiot, I am, outspokenly, one of those individuals. -

The religion of Islam disgusts me and I find it a repulsive, parasitic presence on this planet. Its holy book is filled with hatred and intolerance. The religion degrades women and forces them to hide themselves in public. It's a religion that provides the necessary ingredients for radicalism/terrorism. Does that sentiment make me Islamophobic? Too effing bad. I will wear the title with pride.

At a regional convention today....
by Nobodyspecial init really stands out to me just how phoney the bonds of forced brotherhood are.
the smiles are paper thin when they see each other in hotels.
the laughs forced.

Yup. I don't miss the "cult approved" lifestyle. You need too much medication to live that way. It's so easy to make insta-friends with people in that organization. The trouble is, friends that are easy to make are easily discarded. Don't make your 10-hour a month quota and you might as well be the dog poop that they annoyingly scrape off their heels.
The fact that you call yourself Nobody Special shows that you need to rip off the tentacles that this sect is using to suffocate your self esteem. YOU ARE special man/ma'am.

Why isn't the Boston Globe doing a better job?
by Londo111 inhttps://www.bostonglobe.com/metro/regionals/north/2016/06/29/who-are-jehovah-witnesses-who-live-among/z39a6dvdcp5lvufo7y7ozo/story.html.
why isn't the boston globe doing a better job covering this group?.
after all, the movie spotlight won an oscar about this paper and their groundbreaking journalism into the catholic church covering child abuse.

Us locals know The Globe is shit. We all read The Herald instead. I have no doubt there was a "donation" that helped make this biased article happen. -

Glad you are in a good place. I like the idea of this life being just a first step, a trial run so to speak of the things to come for humans. I like the idea that a non biblical higher being got things started at a molecular level and had a plan for humans to achieve incredible things.
I also read fiction and love it even though I know it's fiction.
It's just my opinion, but I'd say that like every other organism that has a shelf life (all of them) when we die, that's all she wrote. The thought gives me heart palpitations (because i want to live), but I think I'm slowly coming around to the reality of my mortality. All we can do is live a meaningful, productive life, trying to make this planet a little better than it was before we came into it. We control what we can and find peace in doing that.

Introduction - Any Believers?
by Believer ini’ve been reading it for a few of years off and on, but have been a little too ... maybe ... timid to join.
i left the watchtower organization almost 20 years ago but never abandoned my faith and belief in god.
i knew the gb/organization didn’t represent god, so when i lost my faith in them, i managed to keep my faith in an all wise benevolent creator.

The Catholic Church is one of the oldest, bloodiest, morally bankrupt cults this planet has ever seen. They literally built their foundation on the ashes and blood of the innocent. John Mann, I'd like to throw you in a warp drive and send you back to the dark ages. I'd let you come back after a few weeks to tell us how your loving Catholic church dealt with the poor common folk. I'm sure you'd come back an atheist.

Nobody at work knows what JWs believe
by Athanasius inrecently susie, one of my co-workers mentioned that her husband's family were all jws.
the family converted after susie's husband left home, so he never joined the jws, nor does he intend to.
anyway another co-worker asked her: "what do the jws believe?".

In Japan they are well known for no blood, no antibiotics and no medicine. They get them mixed up with another cult that only allows for faith healing. Unfortunately for Watchtower, I'm too lazy to correct them on the medicine thing. They always talk about JWs with a look of disgust on there face - which works for me.

And what caused those conditions to occur? Don't be so quick to jump to conclusion. Why is that stagnant water sitting there?
It took 5 years after I was diagnosed with cancer before they discovered that the water I was drinking was filled with lead luckily I started having bottled spring water delivered to my home. We had totally discontinued using the water in my home.
Rebel, I'm sorry to hear about your troubles with lead poisoning and cancer. Some things result because people can be real mean, selfish and short-sited to others like you.
I wouldn't wish cancer on anyone. Cancer is a horrible mutation of cells that go crazy and self destruct. If I were a god filled with love, mercy and compassion, I wouldn't allow cancer to exist in the first place. Unfortunately cancer, harmful bacteria and killer viruses do exist. They exist because the universe knows no mercy. They exist because they have self assembled and evolved over time. They play an integral role in starting and ending life forms like us.
I wish you the best of luck in your recovery from cancer and hope you never get cancer again.
Why does water stagnate? There are many reasons, but mostly because of the topography of the land. Why do hideous viruses and amoebas and bacterias exist? I think I know the answer you want to hear: Satan did it!

You're right Rebel, JW's and some ex JW's don't make much sense. I don't make sense to even myself half the time. My anger rises up when I think about this conditional god. If it exists and I ponder the possibility (as theists would have me do), I get extremely pissed off considering the horrible suffering, pain and death NOT CAUSED BY HUMANS around me. I guess I'm morally superior to "believers" which is why I can't believe such nonsense without going into righteous indignation mode.
I find in interacting with many theists they blame the horrific things of this world on anything but god. I bring up flesh eating amoebas - you blame it on the state officials for not testing the water. Well, did they allow the amoeba to exist in the first place?! Did they design this ugly killer?! No, that would be the work of your designer my dear. He gets all the credit whether you accept it or not. Bodies of water, more often than not, flow into other bodies of water. A heavy rainfall might push stagnant water (by way of run off) into another bigger pond. Previously tested water might suddenly have amoebas crop up. Don't cop out and blame men here.
