  Was Judas present for the passing of the emblems?

  memorial is this tuesday.

  while explaining the significance of consuming the booze and bread it is quite likely the speaker is going to make a passing remark about how jesus made sure that judas would not be present to partake.. of course he won't explain his reason for saying that.

  that's right... 4 freemasons are quoted with honorable mention in today's wt rag study... anyways, these are:.

  paragraph 1: john greenleaf whittier (1807-1892) - freemason and quaker poet who wrote "masonic voice review".

  there is even a freemason affiliated lodge in massachusetts named after him... the john greenleaf whittier order of demolay which is part of the "freemasons of the eastern star"... paragraph 4: albert barnes (1798-1870) - freemason and presbyterian who was directly involved in the gnostic liberation front which, among other false teachings, attempted to dissuade their members into believing that lucifer is not satan.

  Interesting.

  It would certainly tie in with the illuminati conspiracy theories, free masons, secret societies etc. the real rulers of the world, the big boy money players at the top. Now the proverbial has hit the fan, a lot of them are going to start turning on each other, to protect their cash and assets/wealth.

  I could see how quite easily the wt org is a front for something else. also look at the high level of world wide criminal activity, drug and gun money there is flying around at the moment. money laundering etc. A number of big players, banks etc have been caught moneylaundering for the crims, that's where they, the government/banks old boys club coffers to pay big fat bonuses, the coffers were filled and pockets were lined with dirty money. Even the RC church is under investigation.

  The Mantan the lost tribe of Wales

  we have been researching our ancestry and so far on my father's side we have located the family land in wales in a little village called machynileth just off the coast of cardigan bay and our search dates to 1749. someday my son and i will visit our family-tree homesteads in europe.. legends develop in anyone's family and one of the curious legends was of an american native tribe called the mantan who lived near the ohio valley and wisconsin and later moved east to the dakotas.

  what was interesting about the story of these peoples is that they were blue-eyed and some green-eyed with lighter skin and it was thought early on by anthropologists that some of their words were welsh.

  it turns out they were not descendents of welsh explorers but they may have been the result of earlier encounters with europeans.

  designs - lovely story.

  I've got Irish ancestory - what an ancestry they have. And yes family displacement, famine, clans, tribes, kings, high kings, priests, overlords, invaders, revolution, civil war, terrorism, poverty, church rule, corrupt governments. lol

  I do love reading about things like this. Like the jw, it's things we can relate to and they become more real, I think. It's like I have more clarity on things in life .... ' ii can see clearly now the rain has gone ' ...........

  I also love true stories, life experiences etc. I think if you can become aware of what suffering really is, and how that person is affected by it, then as people we can at least try to understand and be kind and helpful.

  i am stunned by candace's huge court victory.

  it is overdue.

  i have been reading comments on jvn, huffington, san jose mercury, nbc, and other sources.

  the difference though between the two are this.

  The Church is hand in hand with the state. alway was exuding power over the governments and the common folk. that is why it gets away with so much.

  fortunately it has lost it's iron grip on a few generations.

  Wt - not entwined in political systems, and has spent how many years condemning politics and religion. It may find it has not many 'worldy' friends, but many enemies it has made over the years. So revenge could be the order of the day for a lot of people in the world out there.

  It may fall in a spectacular fashion.

  Mentally Diseased

  apparently (i'm taking others' word for it) the watchtower publications are asserting that "apostates," i.e., those who have chosen to no longer be jehovah's witnesses, are "mentally diseased.

  " there are some important issues with this assertion.. first, they are not mental health professionals and in no position to diagnose mental illness.

  do they believe we all have the same "mental disease," or are there different diagnoses for different people who come to their senses?.

  I came across an article in the british press about this today. Ex jws have been making complaints as it it race hate etc. the police are following it up. Peolpe ahve written to MP's and it's in the newspapers.

  My Encounter with a JW couple this Morning

  i was shopping with nugget in sainsburys and i saw them in the bread aisle.

  a couple in their late 70's / early 80's who really i do have an affection for.

  he was an ms when i left, not sure if he still is, and she was just a very genuine person with decades of "faithful service" to the cult.. when i was a newly appointed elder, their grand-daughter had accused her step-father of sexual abuse, he was eventually df'd but has since my leaving been reinstated.

  Excellent thread. I love positive ones like this. It shows we are not bitter, and we do still believe, but ... there is a line of righteousness we must stand at. It's that simple. It boils down to LAW. Right and wrong. Good v evil. God v satan .. that is their argument all the time is their belief (supposedly), which they preach.

  So we are only doing what we are taught to do spiritually, take a stand for God and truth and righteousness. not to become workers of lawnessness like sons of the flesh.

  It may give others the courage to think for themselves and start expressing their doubts about the organisation. There is only ever one way to change something ... YOU make it change.... or you sit in the dirt and scratch your sores like Job did. Difference is you will end up staing in the dirt. Or you can chose life. Fulfilled happy joyeous life.

  Plus, they won't want anymore bad press this side of the memorial .....

  I had no idea all of these things were happening. It sickens me. And the attitude of some jw's sickens me too. they spent long enough spouting hate against the church. Taking a moral high ground. pointing fingers and snide remarks. And they have to audacity to go into these peoples countries, (their homes, their families, their communities, with all their ancestary and culture,) as guests and visitors, under the protection of the laws of the country, and do this preaching of morality and truth and a superiority of spirituality.

  I have personally seen many many catholics that have shown by far superior 'christian qualities' than the one that is standing there holding the Bible.

  It's hypocrisy. It's not the r&f who are to blame, they are doing what they been dummed into doing like good slaves.

  Hope i don't offend anyone. sorry if i do.

  "The Problem of EVIL & SUFFERING" Thread!

  for all individuals who are atheists, agnostics, christians, jews, muslims, jehovah's witnesses, or anyone else: this is the thread to post the very best argument against god or defense/case for god based on the problem of evil/suffering.. if there is an all-good, all-powerful, all-knowing god, why does he allow all of the suffering and evil we have today (and down through the millenniums)?.

  also, for those who believe in god (like myself), how do you harmonize/reconcile your belief in god with the fact of all of the evil and suffering in the world?.

  i will post my beliefs on this shortly..

  Equally there has to be sufficient research and study of the scriptures, and knowledge of the story/history to be able to answer or format view on any of the topics.

  If you want to believe in/about anything you have to study/learn/know it. whether anyone agrees or disagrees is irrelevent. Being able to hold a well informed balanced debate/discussions/conservation is the product of actually learing about what it is they are actually talking about.

  that is one area where jws and ex jws (and possibly some other religions) really do have an edge, as a rule they have exceptionally high knowledge of not only the Bible and the scriptures/information but the history and stories. they do have the package, and they know it very well as a lot were born in and raised in. they ate it, slept it, breathed it. It was/is their very fibre. Which showed remarkable qualities in these people as individuals, and what they have endured. they are experts.

  There are a lot of answers in there, but it was kept from us, and never taught us, so we don't know it or haave forgotten it. Doesn't mean any of it isn't true.

  If it is, then we are seeing events unravelling in our very day and age, and it will be interesting to see what does happen. Like the past, we dont actually know. Nor do we know the future.

  londo has written a great article (imo) about how apostates are a figment of the jw imagination, fomented and concocted by none other than the watchtower.

  not necessarily the dictionary definition of the word apostate, which simply means a person who leaves their religion, for by that definition everyone who leaves any religion to become a jw is an apostate.

  no, it is jw conception of the apostate, both as an individual and as a group that is imaginary.. .

  Slaves. A nation of slaves, of everytribe, nation from out of the world. Into bondage. Mental and emotional, abused slaves. just llike every other class of slave that has gone through history. I have just remebered about the blood issue, i had x3 emergency C sections. There was no way I would agree to blood.

  A perpetual state of fear and control of many many people.
