Want to know why people accept evolution ?

do you have questions about or want to understand evolution?

it is a difficult concept to communicate and so if it is not explained well , it is understandable that we would dismiss it.. i sincerely want to talk with people who want to learn more or see what all the fuss is about.

we are all learning and increasing our knowledge all the time and it is good to go over facts with critical eye.. evolution we can discuss, looking at the foundational facts and evidence, one at a time for you to go and check, agree or disagree with and return.. no pressure to accept it, you can decide for yourself, also no mocking etc of what you have to say.. .

yet in the United Kingdom we have animal cruelty laws, whereby we appreciate the life the animal has sacrificed for us so that we may have food and sustenance, we give our animals a good standard of life, look after them well, and make the 'last days' as stress free and pain free as possible to reduce any suffering to them.

i thought of posting this on an ongoing thread regarding proof of noahs flood by poster *lost*, but i think a separate thread is needed.

this is why.. first my disclaimer.

this thread is a theory since so many people love the theory and so as not to hurt feelings and insult anyone, this is only a theory.. my personal observation is this, as long as you bash watchtower all is ok. as soon as you try to present any resemblance of christianity or any belief in the bible, such as the flood, you are personally bashed.

Iv'e had some very interesting discussions with some learned professors and teachers recently, who are part of the intellectual elite, and even they are open and honest enough to challenge and debate consistently theories put forward from 'previous intellectual masters'.

As they say. the existence of God CANNOT, CANNOT, be proved, nor DISPROVED. And that Science is FALLIBLE.

as they say - Darwins theory - is after all a theory. and there are many aspects of what he wrote is being challenged.

Some people totally miss the point.

just want to share what i've uncovered on this and verify my conclusion!.

it was my impression that birthdays were banned shortly after christmas was in 1926. the proclaimers book is very vague about this, implying that the ban shortly followed the christmas ban.

i searched the 1940s watchtower magazines and uncovered this blurb in the jan 1, 1940 watchtower, p. 16, under "field experiences": cleveland, ohio: "pardon me for intruding on your precious time, but i just cant help letting you know how much i appreciate the phonograph which came to me on the morning after the 8th, which was my 80th birthday.

i know that a lynch mob forms whenever there's a hint of anybody being a pedophile, but the truth is that not all are the slavering, predatorial animals that they are painted to be.

each circumstance has its' own specifics.

One thing that itches my brain is this.

Before Christianity, before the Bible, before Jesus, before the Greeks, (going back 1,000's of years) in every ancient culture, there was some form of worship and belief.

There was a belief in an afterlife. There was belief in God/gods.

There was a belief in demons/angels/spirits.

There are many stories of supernatural beliefs, myths, folklore, etc.

There are many flood stories.

In short, there was a pre-existing belief stucture in place, for a long time.

What I ask myself, is why.

Why do these things exist, if there was no foundation for such things.

Also, why cannot we explain an inherent belief in God.

there must be a reason for it.
