  Bang on - THEY ARE diseased mentally. beyond reason. Blind.

  dellusions of grandeur?

  They cannot get to the deeper meaning of things. It is impossible for them. They are blinded. lost in darkness. lost mentally, lack of education and real knowledge of life in the real world environment.

  How should I respond to a JW friend? (Australia)

  sorry if this isn't the right place to post this - brand new member here.. i recently caught up with an old friend who is a jw.

  she's been witnessing to me, and i've accepted all her handouts because i don't want to hurt her feelings.

  but now she's asking me for my "thoughts" about what i've read so far.

  this thread is great. I am learning so much on how to handle things. Everything that is being said is so true, makes everything very clear.... now we on the outside looking in, and because we have been there we know exactly what is going on.

  It's great to be able to see it all unfolding - cos that is waking up means. Your senses, vision everything, you become awake.

  You go from fumbling around in darkness 'spiritual' to gradually finding your way toward the light, again 'spiritual' light.

  They think they are in that place, they don't make the conectiono, no it's the wrong way go back. Their 'faithful honest guide' is leading them down the wrong path.

  As cant leave said ..... the message is mostly right. it's the organisation who is wrong.

  If she has to keep thinking, and processing and problem solving mentally, making her brain and thoughts 'WORK' then thinking, a light bulb moment may happen and finally it clicks into place. Like the 'jigsaw'

  i was told once, drawing people in is a gradual process. Like if you want to take a light pice of wood and stain it dark. you have to keep applying those layers, keep building up the depth of the stain.

  it's become ingrained in every fibre of their being. Like a poison.

  please let us know how it's going

  Apostates are Perverts!!!

  last sunday's public talk was about tools the devil uses to tear down our faith, and as usual; apostacy, false teaching and erroneous thinking came up in the point, and the speaker went on and on, accusing apostates of being perverts and aspiring to live a life of debauchery which couldn't be tolerated amongst jehovah's people.. he further went on stating that if eventually apostates get into the world, they often find themselves not being able to mix up with satan's system as a result of the bible based understanding which they had acquired, and they ended up getting bitter and wasting their lives .

  those words were quite frightenning, i never heard it this strong before!!

  lol ... i have heard stuff like tht. exactly like that. And from an elderette. So it must be like they are all drugged to think it and believe it.

  Was even told you don't to get a university education as a young one..... you can learn everything you need from the wt and awake magazines. lol. ( i'm laughing, feels good.... what is this strange feeling, lol ) It's how everything all of you guys are saying is so true. cos that is exactly the way it is with a lot of them.

  At the time it was said... i thought to myself (B.S) lol. Now I hear so many other people saying the same, it's great. Lights are on.

  That really is the mentality of some people.

  i have heard it said by JW's about other jw's ..... they don't realise, they won't ALL survive - meaning, there is badness in some. So there must be a lot of other people who are due to wake up to, brilliant.

  How do I as a future "Therapist" help ex-jws that won't move on from the WT?

  i am halfway through my master's program in psychology/sociology and plan on being a therapist/sounselor.

  i left jw's in 1988 and i have never looked back.

  i enjoy my life so much after getting my aa degree, then my ba degree, and now i will soon get my ma degree.

  The thereapist - know more than everyone and is an expert, she has learned these things. WHERE FROM.

  How can ayone even have a clue if they have lived it/experienced it. And therapists KNOW talking therapy is good for the person.

  it's not physical, its emotional and mental. you cant put a plaster over it and just say there there. You don't say it to a child who was abused, they suffered trauma. So why would it be ok to take the same attitude and say it to an adult, that was abused, mentally, emotionally, and in some other cases much worse.

  It is only when people can stand up and tell the truth and have someone listen to them, can they even begin to start dealing with things. if you haven't endured it you will never understand. I would be considered half baked, not full into it big time jw. I was always on the fringes, but very in mentally and emotionally. thankfully I found this here, I was on my way back in !! wish I knew 20 yrs ago. Our lives would be different. It's not about blaming anyone, it's about learning how to overcome what you have suffered.

  Selfish people who have no fellow love for man, will trample all over you to get to their goals. Kind people help you get up if you fall down. Kind people have feelings of empathy, conscience, guilt, duty.

  stuff that has happened to me and people of other religions that i've met and read about--it makes me wonder if the caretakers of "holy writings" haven't bent us with their theology and pedantry.. i don't think jesus wanted us to make a religion.. he offered an experience of faith that was first and foremost an invitation.

  the gospels--even if half diluted with error can't dispel the experiences we feel if we accept these words at face value: john 7:17-18.. i can't stay on- going to doctors today.. thanks.

  Agreed.

  He was against ORGANIZED. Stucture, uneccessary burdens, RESTRICTING the people (sheep) bogging them down with things, when they should be enjoying the faith.

  If babylon the great is the World empire of false/organised religion, then this also means the WTBTS could be included as part of the thing they are judging and preaching agaisnt.

  looking deeper now into the meanings of things, the deeper things, i think we are starting to realsise exactly what it is about. Not the physical/literal. But the things unseen. Spiritual/emotional. and not to be getting 'anxious' ? in everyday life ?

  Being a good person, following the law and showing the qualities of a 'true' Christian. Not what man labels as christian.

  so today after the meeting an older pioneer sister was outside as people were talking about the wonderful experience from the yearbook of the family in nigeria or wherever that went to the meeting and the plane destroyed their neighborhood.

  but since they were at the metting they lived..... .

  so she says, "you heard about the ones that died in a bus crash on the way to the convention????

  Agreed ... healthy 'teaching' of the healthful things ..... just discussion in itself..... about the things of God etc. Can be just as effectfull. Because the mind is working away by itself to try to right things when it goes wrongs, like htought processes, the power of the mind. If you 'dull' thinking and reasoning in a person, they are more inclined to go along and obey. rather thatn 'think'.

  Once they start talking/disuccing.. tehn they actually start thinking, then they start reasoning, then they start questioning things .. then they see the 'light' the 'TATT' ... gradually. their eyes adjust to the dark as they come into the light.

  we have to come out the same way we went in ... gradually, gently, sttep by step. So that the mind and the emotions overwhelm them ... then they shut down cos the mind can't cope. It's overload. Too much too much, panic. shut down.

  I do think if we could start some running topic threads on these things, 'reasoning from the scriptures' (lol, ironic ? ) Healthy discussion and debate about the why's. why we are asking these things, then researching them for 'true' meanings. It would really help a lot of us that are struggling to get out of it if we are still controlled bu it, and we are confused trying to make sense of it all.

  Hi.

  Isn't the 'one people' 'one religion' to mean one people as in the pure of heart. that's the chosen race, those of us that are striving to believe and practice what God, Jesus taught us so that we will know the real 'truth' to follow what Jesus told us, not what man is telling us. He told us to watch out for these things.

  This point seems to be why now so many of us are asking these questions. we have the knowledge but the truth has been kept from us.

  which all ties in with the time of the end .... close up the book daniel .... many will roam about ...... searching .... the word of god. Not jesus an organissed religion, but a movement away from traditions of men .... towards seeking of 'the truth'.

  I too am similar to you. 18mths ago threw my self abck in to spending a lot of time studying to get back on track. thankful for that time though and effort I out in though.

  Because I was studying / researching as a student, not as one being converted, if that makes sense. Si I actually got a much firmer hold on things than I have ever before in my life. There a a lot of questions, and things tht just don't feel 'right' now I am learning from others why this is, and that it seems to be 'normal'

  Is there something big 'huge' happening here guys. In the scale of things. Is this going to grow into something really big?

  I need also to learn more on the 'TATT'

  Everybodies discussions and commetns here are a great help.

  We are gathering together to discuss deep spiritual truths and greater meaning .... lol.
