  this is the full crash that wasn't showed on the news.. they referenced it on national news but didn't show whole clip.. if you already have fear of flying etc.

  while everyone has been bickering back and forth, i decided to do something positive to move forward.

  as most of you know back in jan our family marked us as apostates and started shunning us.. so i wrote to all of my congress-people and told them what is going on with the jw's.

  i told them how they are breaking up families, teaching the children intolerance, etc.

  NE good one. At least you made the effort to actually something pro-active and positive.

  You are bang on in one respect. (regardless of whether or not the letter is automated, of course it would be, tht's why busy folks have secretaries )

  The point is

  EVIDENCE

  The letter is evidence. Once something is put in writing, it is cast in stone. Nobody can deny it. Nobody can say, oh, I didn't know anything about 'whatever'.... because the evidence is now there.

  They only sit up and take notice when something becomes such a problem/headache for them/society, when it becomes a problem, they will start to look for answers, how to eradicate/minimise the problem.

  Disgusted by this picture and the AAWA carry on. It just seems to be sinking further into the depths. They are not ' Anti ' no more now, they are ' Advocates '.

  In light of this, very embarrassing, recent revelation, I for one am so happy I have nothing to do with supporting this (AAWA) in any way shape or form.

  it illustrates how there is a scientific explanation for ouija boards, and how dowsing won't stand up to scientific scrutiny.. here's a summary:.

  um - anyone here got any actual personal experience of ouija boards, black magic, satanism etc.

  I wasn't born 'in', I didn't grow up 'in', from someone who came out of the 'world'

  I wouldn't, and i do mean, I wouldn't get involved with ouija boards or anything else remotely connected to the 'dark arts' spiritism, demonism, whatever else you want to call it. I certainly wouldn't be getting one for my kids, toy shop or not.

  Have you seen a proper ouija board drawn by a satanist, complete with chickens blood.

  Nope. I wouldn't be going there.

  I agree that you have to face your demons, then you can start to heal. What I found helpful was reading books on basic psychology and cognitive behaviour. Talking and associating with others who have experienced similar. Positive thinking. Experiencing joy and happiness. Good mates are vital. Proper mates.

  I haven't got a clue about the different strains etc. It was when I made a new friend ( who would turn out to be my future partner ) that got me on it and it was the start of my recovery. i started to sleep again, started to eat again, started to exercise, gave me confidence and a sense of well being, I was able to think again, was able to interactive with people again. Basically I started to feel alive again and was able to rebuild my shattered life. I wanted to live again.

  We can even remember the first time I laughed again.

  I feel for you, it's hard but you can do it.

  i want to start by saying i will not participate in discussion here about my resignation as a moderator at jwn.. simon please consider this as my resignation from that position.. i have been posting on this board for almost 12 years.

  i know some of you a lot, others a little and some not very well at all.

  i have remained here for those of you who have needed support as you make the transition out of the wts, who needed someone to listen to your experiences of abuse at the hands of jehovah's witnesses, and to both laugh and cry with you as you progress out of the watchtower society.. we know that we have all experienced the cruelty of abuse of one kind or another.

  please point out, where did I say LL owes anything to anyone ? I made no such statement. If you want to translate other people's comments into alternative meanings. feel free. I would ask you not to do same with my comments/remarks.

  If you have a problem with something I say/said, then by all means, explain to me what exactly bothers you. But do not make staements that I have said something which I did not.

  In your opinion she doesn't owe anyone *sh*t* , that's your opinion. Where did I say she did ?

  In my opinion, I agree it is a public slight on Simon, the fact that it was done so openly, not in private, given their long history. In my culture it would be considered very rude and insulting. Like flipping the finger and saying F.U.

  But, this wasn't a rash decision. AAWA was in the planning for months and quite possibly LL was heavily involved with Cedars throughout every step of the planning process. I guess only they will know. Those on the inside know far much more than those on the outside.

  She did take it upon herself to lock a post at Cedars request.

  WT - why do people automatically assume they give a damn about what goes on here. why do people automatically assume this is some kind of embarrassment to JWN and the members here.

  I don't. I think each and every person here who stood up and called wrong doing into question and stood by and supported the victims, going against popular consensus, have shown sterling qualities. The kind of qualities that people in WT land fear.

  Yes fear, why, they don't have control. when you cannot control/bribe/cajole they become unpredicatble and dangerous. they show no fear and the ability endure in the face of adversity.
