What is the best thing that ever happened in your life?
by creativespirit infor me it was meeting and marrying my current husband (who had once studied for the catholic priesthood).. the second best thing was having an affair during my first marriage (to the bethelite).
he said "oh, this is all wrong.
you have to get out of your marriage, and you have to get out of your religion.".

What does 100 calories look like?
by jgnat inhave you ever marvelled, as i have, at the marketing genius that sells us less food for more money?
the marketer who came up with the "100 calorie" packaging ploy deserves a consumer's medal.
i am recording my own 100 calorie snack wonders, that are balanced for a diabetic (carb, protein, and roughage).

Thing is see - back in the day, we had a more basic natural balanced diet. Today in this world of 'money' and 'profits' when we dig deep into the differences in modern farming and food production compared to back in the day - we realise at some point, there was a shift.
'' Good nutriton
Means eating foods each day that will give the necessary vitamins, minerals and other nutrients needed to keep the body strong.
All our lives we have been told to ''eat a blanced diet''
Very simply it means taking daily meals or snacks, including all or some, of the following
- Protein foods
- Fruit and vegetables
- Dairy foods
- Bread and cereal group. ''
( of course there are exceptions to the rule, medical conditions etc, nutritional dis-orders, so thanfully we now have the understanding of food sciences, but as we are seeing they are very complex issues )
Have you heard of the ''supa - food groups '' ?
edit to add:
Modern lifestyle compared to back in the day.
what upsets the balance in modern day life is lack of physical activity / exercise / work. If you take in more than you expend - you start to store up excess. this excess energy gets converted to body fat. Inside the body and out.

Cofty - wrong there buddy.
That sentiment is what drew me into the faith.
( I will add, there see to be a massive difference with american set up and people than the jw's I know )
I have, how do I put this..... a connection to nature and animals. the miracluous things that happen in nature, and the evidence, truly it is amazing.
Having faith or some form of belief system, is a system of understanding, it is to also have a constraint.
(better to be a jack of all trades ... than a master of one )
I like all things oldey worldey. I like learning about prehistoric life and the journey of the earth and peoples (different civilsations, cultures etc. ) up to our modern day.
What I do notice with a lot of peepes is the WT hate/blame/shame game.
WT didn't do it do you folks, sorry, you all did it to yourselves. We are responsible for our lives, no one else. jw's haven't experienced anything no one else in the world has. Who's fault is it - mans.
Like I have said before, people are so busy hating and bashing God - they let the Devil off scot free, for people who should know so much about the story of the Bible and it's message, all the answers are there. whether one wants to accept it or not is up to them. But the argument should be fair and balanced.

CS - wow. lol. glad you found your soul mate.
for me - other than my kids.
Having a breakdown years ago ( funnily enough ) got me away from my husband, allowed me to spent time with my mother before she died and
I have found my soul mate.

That's why the atkins diet was so controversial.
It's all about balance isn't it.

Hey Glander
I have been under a lot of personal stress. suffered depression in the way past very bad ( had a breakdown)
He took my bloods over a month ago. He said nothing to worry about, just slightly high, and it would only be a cause for worry if it got worse.
It's usually hereditary or poor diet. I hadn't been eating to good, so we think that's what the cause is ( diet ) can't see it being hereditary.
(then we all got struck with nasty virus on top, the past month been tired and lacking energy cos of it, gone now)

big thumbs up to u all.
It's got nothing to do with age, it's all about quality, culture, substance. Kids today are growing up in plastic land. plastic musci, plastic telly programs. mass brain washing.
I also think a lot of it has to do with what your exposed to growing up. parents passing on the knowledge to their kids.
I have divers music tastes ranging from through a lot of genres, some really good powerful pieces of classical music (excalibur theme - oh fortuna), motown, reggaes, pop, rock, metal. Even some of the modern manufactured songs.
It's the tune that get me, not so much the words. I lean more toward powerful music.
Beatles, UB 40, Fleetwood mac, Kate bush, Pit Bull, Eminem, Bob marley, blondie. tina Turner. michael Jackson, ya can't deny he was a genius.
Survivor, eye of the tiger, Rocky. Brilliant.
Back in the day they had to work for it, mostly they wrote the songs themselves.
Tal, thanks for info on docs, another casualty of this modern world.

Are we all missing the true 'MARK' of the Wild Beast?
by Newly Enlightened indisclaimer: hubby & i have been watching a 5 dvd documentary on the 'secret's of the founding father's' we're not sure if we believe everything they talk about but here is some interesting things to think about..... revelation mentions that the 'mark' would either be on the forehead, [for everyone to see] or, on the right hand [if you make a fist, it is hidden] rev also says that no one can buy or sell without this mark.
the wtbt$ isn't too clear on what they believe that mark is, so.... what is one thing that we cannot buy or sell without?.
money!.

I can tell you in Ireland and the Uk at least, cash is king. hard cash. the days of barter/swaps/exchange are dead. Peeps want cash. The cash they can convert, although with money laundering laws etc now in place, it is getting harder for crims to launder their cash and convert it.
Gypsies, their welath was ponies and they wore their gold. Now, it's cash..
haven't got my head around the mark of the beast
everything has to be reinvestigated seperate from WT teschings.

The amount of times they go off topic, piss take and even abuse people and get away with it really winds me up. It's like having spoiled brats you just want to slap.
I often wonder if they conduct themselves with the same amount of spite, hatred and vitrolic in the 'real world' with 'real people' as they do here. Or is it because they are hiding behind pc screens and fake identities.
That would be a spectacle I would pay to watch. They wouldn't last 5 mins.

Post 666: Revelation--Its Grand Climax in 70 AD
by Londo111 inrevelation is the most misunderstood and misused book of the bible.
the branch davidians and other cults used revelation with deadly results.
fundamentalists have used it to prognosticate a future where the antichrist and his one world government mark people with microchips or barcodes during a seven year tribulation.
