l p, I don't know how the following will help in a legal case because there are no specific questions that JCs are required to ask. The questions are not listed in a book.
Questions asked by any JC will differ depending on the men that make up the committee. Some brothers use the JC situation to ask all sorts of bizzare things. Other men are more polite and thoughtful. Following are typical questions asked by elders from my experience on JCs over 13 years.
How did you come to know this person?
When did you notice that this relationship was changing from being an acquaintance to becoming something more serious?
How did you react to this change? How did this make you feel?
How did you stay in contact with this person? How did you continue to meet?
When was the first time that you touched each other inappropriately? What happened? Did you do this [specific thing]? Did he/she do this [specific thing]?
How often would you say that this has happened?
Did you use protection? [If you used protection, you can be judged as more guilty for planning to sin.]
Some elders just have to ask, Did you climax? Did he/she climax? What this adds to the discusssion is beyond me.
Where was Jehovah in your mind while you were doing these thing?
How do you think Jehovah felt about it? How do you feel about this person?
What steps have you taken so that this does not happen again?

What does 2014 mean to you
by NewYork44M insometime in the early 1990s i made a commitment to myself that if the end did not come in 2014 i was going to walk away.
then i started thinking - if i waited until 2014 i would be 57 years old with very few options.
that is when i realized that i needed to make changes to get my life back.

My epiphany. You and me both will be 57 in 2014. Woo hoo!
Mine was along about 1984, counting 70 years since 1914 + 15 years for being old enough to take notice = at least 85 years old for the 1914 generation.
But I stayed another 15 years after 1984. I should have left earlier, but then I wouldn't have seen for sure the rotteness to the core.

Will Jehovah never tire of testing us and giving us yet one more time to deserve destruction?
As the story goes...it was proven in the Garden of Eden that we can't go it alone and will ultimately fail, thus the need for a "Saviour."
And, according the Genesis story, it has been proven over and over and over and over over and over and over and over since then.
But after a 1,000 years boys and girls.......let the Devil and his demons have a go at humans again. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

I am glad to see comments like those of Virgochik and millie210 and others, that seeing elders and former elders here can be encouraging. Realizing that you are in a cult and that most of what you believe is garbage is very hard to sort out.
Speaking for myself, those of us who were elders were not special or neccesarily more spiritual. We were born male and followed the Orgs prescription for being appointed. Some of us were very sincere and wanted only good things for our brothers and sisters. But special, appointed by holy spirit, privileged? No.

Hi budbayview and welcome. I met Shroeder a few times along about the early 90s. The first time was at one of the 'secret' elder meetings.
I didn't know who he was at first as he opened the elder school and never introduced himself. I was not impressed. He was so c***sure of himself about minor matters not in the Bible. Then later when he was introduced for a later part, I realized that he was GB member Shroeder. Not impressed.
About the Old Testament writings and other writings with similar stories that predate the OT. My take is, if you believe the OT, then you have to believe the others. If you don't believe the earlier stories, then why believe when they are retold in the OT?

They came by MY house today!
by Pistoff incolor me gobsmacked.. i am home this morning, banging away at bookwork at the kitchen counter, when i hear the doorbell.. (when my doorbell rings, it is an event; i live one mile off the road.
no casual visitors here, no salesmen.).
i look out the side window, i see a minivan i don't recognize.. i peek at the front door, and there are 2 elders at the door, what the hell?.

Witnesses have no clue that unannounced visiting is not polite. Even sales companies know this and pre-call before door knocking. Door to door is an outdated business model from the days when communication was in person.

The magazines were left in my door today. Skinny little things with a lot of pictures and bullet-type commentary. Actual articles are almost non-existent. I was surprised when I found the skinny little Awake! inside the Watchtower.
The little things are now monthly magazines. Where is the fire? What does the Writing Department do any more? Certainly not research anything of depth and then submit it to print. Sad. Too sad.

This will go differently than you imagine. Remember, your parents are hurting according to their belief system. You have a chance to show them what the new you is all about.
Be kind, be gentle, be understanding, to them as people and as your family. But don't budge an inch on anything WT or organizational. Help them to see how smooth and nice your life is already. They know the stress from the congregation. Give them a breath of fresh air.
