And now she is being persecuted for taking a stand for pure worship.

Dissed by a Sister!
by finally awake ini was running the cash till at the annual boy scout fundraiser yard sale yesterday, wearing my finest boy scout t-shirt and enjoying the blistering heat, when i saw a local family of witnesses browsing the merchandise.
they studiously avoided looking at me, but eventually a bargain nightgown proved irresistable and the wife was forced to approach the cash table and ask about pricing.
we avoid putting prices on each item because there is just too much stuff and we remind everyone that the money sends the kids to summer camp so the guilt kicks in and people pay more.

I've become bold
by skeeter1 ini totally discovered ttat in 2004.. at first, i told my jw relatives each & every thing i found out.
they didn't appreaciate it.. then, i read coc and realized that that was the wrong approach.
so, from about 2007-2013, i rarely said anything to them abou the jws.. well, i just don't care any more to pussy foot around them, making nice, and smiling.

I haven't had to do with any congregation reps, but if pressed, I would say something like, I had a wake up call like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz once the curtain was pulled back. You need to wake up too to the fairy tale you have been sold.

Pointless Speculation
by konceptual99 ini've noted a few people aluding to a rumour that there will be a "big announcement"(tm) that will "shock some"(tm) later this year, probably around agm time.. in the interests of pointless speculation, what might this be?
i am sure we can all think of some outlandish possibilities but i am interested in what could have some possibility of actually happening.. for example,.
- sisters able to do some aspects of ms roles.. - regional conventions (nee.

What is the WT actually printing these days? Think about all the bound books we used to have and more constantly coming out. They were ramping up printing of this and that all over the place. Growth growth! We need more bound books!
Now what? Two little skinny slivers of a magazine and an occasional tract? Not to forget the much ballyhooed silver Bible. They got as much wind out of that as they could.
From your list, I will go with Regional Conventions in Soicety owned venues ($). And official but unofficial tithes, promoted as Biblical since the Israelites were asked to bring it all in for the temple building, and thus they did. You know the GB and Bethel heavies cannot stand it that they see wealthy brothers.

Hang in there man. And find that verse...a man that does not provide for his own household is worse than an unbeliever. Read that one to the misses.

I was "totally" stopped in my tracks by an "atheist" comment.
by booker-t ini must admit i can at times be a little "egotistical" when it comes to knowledge and the bible.
i have studied the bible for so long and have always had a passion for the bible as a jw and as an ex-jw.
i guess that is all i have left when it comes to religion and as humans we do tend to stroke our egos.

How about the garden of Eden test-em-with-a-fruit-tree? Who came up with this idea to test the perfect creation? And the consequences so dire? Did he have not a clue how it might turn out for inexperienced humans? And it was "all good" we are told. All so good that 1/3 of the heavens turned away and 100% of the "perfect" humans.
And supposedly we are all still suffering pain, sickness, and death until the creator's point is proven. Sounds rather ridiculous if you ask me.

How many have stopped attending at YOUR Kingdumb Hell?
by hamsterbait inon a recent thread about the fleecing of the sheeples, one poster said their congo was down to 85 publishers from 102.. the last hall i attended had 80-odd publishers 20 years ago, now only 30.. how much of a decline at your kh?.

Yep, all about appearance and having an encouraging convention experience.
Reminds me of the old shell game, 3 shells but only one pea under one shell. Just keep moving the shells and the pea.

sir82, point taken on the data points worldwide do not equate to the small unofficial sampling response here. But don't you see an incongruence between the stats reported and the observable shrinking organization?
By the way, Londo111 is from central VA. I am from central/eastern NC. The very places that you suggest where growth is moving to. I don't see it.

It's a strange thing, twice shy, that the official stats speak of growth but the personal observations speak otherwise. Something is amiss here.

Consensus so far is that attendance is way down compared to a few years ago. My old congregation has gone from 90+ publishers to about 45.
The town that I now live in has several churches with Sunday attendance over 1,000. We have one mega-Baptist church with over 3,000 for Sunday attendance. How does that compare to the Kingdom Halls? Nada. A Circuit Assembly does not even compare.
