  InChristAlone, so true that more timely information is here. And the lack here of what is being discussed on AllExperts makes me think that there are some brothers running wild and free with speculations. And BG's leaving makes no sense for the reasons given.

  Oh, I do know that a layoff is given the most positive spin. The Bethel elder will tell those being "laid off", "Armageddon is close brothers, VERY close. The GB has seen fit to send as many brothers as possible out the field to assist the congregations with the final ingathering of those righteously disposed."

  Still, if you are not resigning from Bethel, you are being laid off.

  How can anyone who is truly spiritual-minded attend Bethel and not realize it's all a scam

  not that i was any better(lol - but as i sat back and thought about the time i spent there, and the things i saw i feel disgusted.. i could literally write a thousand stories about the discrimination, favortism and all out dishonest that took place but i doubt anyone would actually care.

  the one thing however that really sticks out in my mind is when i was in a nice room with my roommate that he kind of inherited after his previous roommate left.

  it actually had a bathroom and we both had space for real beds(not those dang trundle beds like we had in standish).. .

  Years ago when I was a believer we had an ex-Bethelite, ex-Circuit Overseer, elder who made the observation that so many brothers upon leaving Bethel come home and immediately become inactive. He was concerned about that. As I thought about it, I saw the same thing! Now I know why.

  Can anyone comment on whether Bethel is laying people off? As in, sending folks out of Bethel to go pioneer somewhere? I have heard rumors but would like more detail. Anyone?

  Love it Bobcat. Just love it. John 6:53, 54 did it for me and are just too powerful to ignore. I recall looking over the Mem talk outline back and front for Scriptural reasons for not partaking. You know what I found...in the OUTLINE? "Last year (speaker to look up last year's numbers) X number attended the Memorial worldwide while only X number partook of the emblems, truly a little flock..."

  The evidence for not partaking is how many people did not partake the previous year. Sheesh.
