  Question about Lawsuits?

  i read on here posts about looming lawsuits and/or mulit-million dollar settlements that have struck fear into the wt society.. we all know about the candace conti case.

  it gained enough notoriety through news outlets.

  and i know that there are many many more accusations and cases against brothers and former brothers.

  I read on here posts about looming lawsuits and/or mulit-million dollar settlements that have struck fear into the WT Society.

  We all know about the Candace Conti case. It gained enough notoriety through news outlets. And I know that there are many many more accusations and cases against brothers and former brothers. But I don't know of other cases that are touching the WT Society. Are there really? Or is this exagerrated speculation, or even wishful thinking, that the WT Society is paying out $millions to settle court cases?

  Is there anything to this really? Other than speculation?

  what did ray franz have to gain by leaving in total poverty?

  if ray franz had stayed in place, he could have lived like a god, why did he leave?

  Ray Franz admits in his writings that he had no intention of leaving or of stepping down even when things came to a head and he was called to trial. He did not voluntarily leave Bethel or step down from being a GB member. He was forced. When forced, he had no other choice but to leave.

  I too believe that Ray Franz was a good man. His books helped me immensely. If he had written with spite I might not have taken his message as seriously.

  serena got her earliest exit at wimbeldon.

  still ranked #1.. for athletes at this level of play are the 30s where the wear and tear start showing.

  i've been away last week in a far away city for my college exams.

  i've been staying at a friend, a jw who, just like me, is actually an atheist and doesn't believe a word the wt says and knows it's a bullshit cult but because of his family and friends he still stays in.

  Any Change In Your Donations Since Tithing Arrangement?

  has anyone who handles accounts noticed a change in the amount of donations coming in since the new tithing arrangement?

  at my hall the number of usual donations are currently at around 1/4 of what they usually are for the past 2 weeks!

  time for another local needs part on donations.

  The WT might well have a few $billion in reserve, but when "sales" for any company dwindle, expect more consolidation.

  If this lack of donating is a trend, expect many more "simplified arrangement's" [tm].

  How We Come Across On The Board

  we converse, discuss, argue, laugh, agree, question, share our lives..... quite often, you kind of get to know what a person is like.

  some people, we tend to gravitate to and others, we shy away from.. how do you think you come across to other people?

  It is a group home where several thousand young single men live together communal style. The eat, sleep, work, and recreate in communal groups. They rarely mingle outside the communal group. They are deprived normal outlets for dating and closeness with the opposite sex. And the married members work apart from each other and are kept so busy that most of their time is apart from each other among the majority single members where they form alliances and relationships with the single people in there work group. This place is called "Bethel". It happens all the time. Humans, being human as they are.

  Interesting. Any signs that the WT is "investing" in more printed books? Remember how we would get latest release with a lot of fanfare and then told that the book would be used in the field to bring in new ones? Or nothing of the kind?

  i was running the cash till at the annual boy scout fundraiser yard sale yesterday, wearing my finest boy scout t-shirt and enjoying the blistering heat, when i saw a local family of witnesses browsing the merchandise.

  they studiously avoided looking at me, but eventually a bargain nightgown proved irresistable and the wife was forced to approach the cash table and ask about pricing.

  we avoid putting prices on each item because there is just too much stuff and we remind everyone that the money sends the kids to summer camp so the guilt kicks in and people pay more.

  i totally discovered ttat in 2004.. at first, i told my jw relatives each & every thing i found out.

  they didn't appreaciate it.. then, i read coc and realized that that was the wrong approach.

  so, from about 2007-2013, i rarely said anything to them abou the jws.. well, i just don't care any more to pussy foot around them, making nice, and smiling.

  I haven't had to do with any congregation reps, but if pressed, I would say something like, I had a wake up call like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz once the curtain was pulled back. You need to wake up too to the fairy tale you have been sold.
