In sweden I know that two assembly halls are sold. One of them strangnas was sold to un estate company. The other one( jakobsberg) is today a mosque. Unfortunately the ( Strangnas hall) was sold to a company that didn’t have the cash to pay. And this company made bankruptcy. I don’t know how much the society lost on this transaction. But I know that many brothers and sisters were disappointed. They had spent many month in voluntary jobs to make “the world’s largest” JW assembly hall.

Today the congregations associated to “the world’s largest” assembly hall are ordered to travel 2-3 hundreds of km to a winter resort in the northern Sweden, paying for the Hotel rooms about 100 $ per night. When over 100 persons are coming to these circuit assemblies, the company that owns the Hotel is willingly to let their conference hall for free. That’s good business for the WBTC. Of course the CO,s and others that are the organizing people are eating and sleeping for free in the largest suits. This arrangement of course in done only under low season. But it is a money maker.

Can the jw organization be reformed?

i know that this has been discussed in the past but i wanted to get some fresh opinions.

there are many out there that recognize the "rot" that is in watchtower but still feel that there is a "wholesome" side to it and are trying to bring about change or reform from within.. in 2002 when the rose colored glasses came off for me and i truly started to understand ttatt, i still felt that there was some redemable aspects of the organization.. i felt that russell had some doctrinal things right.

i don't feel like that anymore.

Sorry for not have been able to watch this site for a week.

My figures where wrong. I just took what I had in my brain for the moment. But they where not "that"wrong. The basic stand.

about 90.000 witnesses are challenged to witness to 9.500.000 new humans born every year. The ratio today is at least 1000 hours to witness to get a new babtism. Yove got to have a deep believe to think that this is possible.

If you look at it from a human point of view. You will find an impossible god. A god that will destroy, kill, murder, about 9.400.000 newly born people every year becouse he has settled a time for harmageddon. No matter if they are children, mothers, fathers, teenagers, trying to understand the "Bible" or just ignorant atheist. They are all evil humans that doesn´t like they way he is trying to leed the world. It remainds me about Abraham, who was ordered to kill his son Isak, just to proof that he loved god more then his son?!"!!

Sorry to say i dont want that kind of a god.

Is the JW-cult going to drop away or are the cult leaders able to transform the teachings to a more acceptable and people winning teachings?

The answer is simply the cult is going to be washed away by the time and people flood.

According to sources available on the net, the earth today contains about 8.500 000 000 (8,5 billions) of humans. The average population increase is roughly 1.1 % per year. That gives in or about 9,35 millions (9.350.000 )new earthly human beings to preach to for the witnesses per year. The WT society claims that all their preaching works of 7.000.000 (7 millions) witnesses result in 1.2% increase or growth in numbers of witnesses (in some countries even reduced) 7 million times 1.2% means that the number of witnesses starting to preach to all these 9.350.000 new human beeings is 1,2 % times 7.000.000 is 84.000 !!!

The history is full of cults that just time will drown away, look at the talibans, amish, kelts, the Viking cults, a.s.f.

Time is the worst of enemies a cult can have. Time is a snare and rackets for The WBT.

Is reading literature a no-no?

my wife doesn't read literature.

i think it is such a shame because reading is one of the joys of life so i have been encouraging her but am meeting resistance.

is there a general prohibition on reading 'wordly' books?

The GB has "blocked" the mind from all theirs supporters, not to read anything else then publications from the watchtowers. This is brainwashing, and a number of totaliaran regimes use this to keep their inhabitants in their mind-prison. Remember the communist, the Cambodians the chinese and the talibans?

You wrote that you have found "assurance of salvation,"...and that by Jesus. It looks very similar to some JW:s who deeply believe that they will live in an eternal life on earth or in heaven. I think that your expression "assurance of salvation,", is something that our human mind (our brain) finds up to keep us away from depression and fear from this world that god has "created". I also think that the Islamic, Jevish, Buddist, pentacoust a.s.f. have the same feeling as you said "assurance of salvation,". Our brain needs rational answers and is always trying to survive in threathful world. Every part of ourselves wants an exponation to all problems that came across us during our lifespan. "assurance of salvation,", its like a brain pill (endorphins) that our brain serves us if we are under stress and. I myselves, takes one or two glas of wine every evening to supply me with endorphins. It works´´´!

Today when coming to age, and deliberated from the superstition that any religion offers you, and totaly accept that I am defenetely gone within some years not knowing feeling or thinking anything. That is my "assurance of salvation,".... If I cant feell or think I cant be hurt in anyway.

Yes you are quite right. My wife is still in, and I do not care if they want to dfws me or not. But if they do, only my wife gets in trouble. She cannot have her friends at our home any longer as she liked to do so much. None of her congs. friends would like to come to our house. She would be regarded as a widow and strucked with the plauge.

How come that the GB doest´nt understand that this will even press her to drop of step by step. This even more since none of our kids any longer are in.

Yes I know that I have this year been not disfsh. but dissassociated, members of the congregation shall not seek me to speak about spiritual thing. Bu I have not attendet meetings in many year. This happends when CO and un elderly came to encouragement me to take up my meeting habit again. I told them that I had used the time by study history, history of Ideas and science and Philosophy, on an university level and that, I now was able to tell them the TTATT. More over I was able to let them se the historical documents and the artefacts that the Watchtower never publish, proofing the the "Bible" is not the word of god, merely is a collection (very interesting such) of myths legends and Jewish traditions written down by ordinary people, who didn´t understand better. They of course refused to let me take them on the tour of proof scientific evidence.

I think that the Stockholm syndrome is when the captive takes the part of those who imprission him or her. It happend 30 years ago when 2 bankrobbers take hostage and held them for days in the bank trying to get free by treathen the hostage. Those who were imprissoned by the robbers called the prime-minister from the bank and said that the robbers were really nice poeple, and that they should free them give them the money.

The thing is if the imprissoned one did that becouse the liked the robbers or if they were scared to death? In the watchtower case I think that many of the captives do like the GB. But they are also scared to death to say anything that could cause dfws, or shunning. The tradgedy is that the robbers now is cashing in the money, and the majority of the captives do not understand that they will die anyway.

Yes the situation is very similar to the Stockholm syndrome

Conspiracy theories.

i'd just like the opions of some of the more clear thinking member on this please:.

let me just start this by saying i don't really buy into conspiracy theories, but sometimes they seem to make sense, i suppose that's the point of them.

all this business with edward snowden seems to add a little more weight to certain conspiracy theories.

What you describe does´t seem to be conspiracy. The world is full of organized peoply in politics, religion, sporting, economy et.c. All the "leaders" of all these organizatons, are there becouse human beeings always want to rule things their way. Specially men seams to be interested in beeing on the "top". Being on the top means that you will have asset to money, facilities, women, this to secure that your genes will survive, and that you are respected/feared??!.

All animals are organizing their society in the same way. Look at the Gorillas, Apes, Moshes, deeres, wolves a.s.f.

Ask youre selves, is the muslim brotherhood in Egypt an iluminate thing? The Alquida, the Vatican, the pentacoste, the republicans, the communist (still existing?) I don´t think so. But I do think that all societies, need leadership, someone that looks strong, have Charisma, appealing to female, can use the money he controls to the benefits of all individuals whitin his group. This is probably the most common things of all human structures. It was first described by Darwin in his book "the origin of species". Today scientist all over the world find facts that matches his these "the fittest survive". The struggle between, nations, leaders, men/women, Children in School, amongst religions, fotball teams, is just a pattern that have arised. It is not created by Satan, deamons, bad angeles. It is created by the total absence of god.
