  Is ignorance an excuse?

  i have always maintained that i hold nothing personally against individual witnesses, even those that have actively slandered our name and reputation based on the actions of some individuals.. i have often said that all these ones, (even the ones spreading gossip), are victims of the culture of the organization, and the directions of the gb.. but recently i have been rethinking this, and wonder if ignorance is really an acceptable excuse?.

  i mean, with so much information now readily available about the society, its origins, its scandals, issues and conduct, is it simply ok for a witness to remain wilfully ignorant about the organization that dictates every aspect of their lives?.

  is ignorance an excuse?.

  I am glad you take up this theme. Many JW:s are in fact ignorant. It´s those with a mental handicap, those with low IQ and those who simply haven´t got basic education. They are excused. And low education is probable one of the more frequent problems amongst the JW:s.

  The ones that cannot really be excused are those who are “fact resistant”. The people who really understand that Adam and Eve was not created 6000 years ago. Those who understand that there was actually No flood 4.500 years ago. Those who understand the 1914 was not the year of Christs return. Those who know the history Russel, Rutherford, UN, and understand that the Bible cannot be interpreted as the SOC does.

  These people are often people that has reached a position in good stand. Their families are the persons that take the lead and every undereducated JW:s and people with some disorder are looking to get support from these MS, elders, and “sister elder”. They have reached a position that they do not won’t to back from. They are in the top of the “pyramid”. And they don´t want to lose their “privileges”… They want to keep themselves on the top even though they know that they are misleading their flock.

  If you try to give them some basic scientific information about “ice-core”, Evolutionary collections on museum, The Pangea movements, about Bible contradictions, they refuse to even “take a part” of that information. They know, if they do, they will lose their good stand in the congs. They are like the guards in the concentration camps. They looked on another site, and are trying to be excused by saying I didn´t know…

  Observations from an Ex-Elder Part 3 - Why not create multiple Adam & Eve's?

  i saw a post the other day on another forum (think it was reddit) that put forward the idea that god should have created multiple couples, not just adam and ever.

  this idea was so simple and brilliantly logical, that i wish i'd thought of it, but i cannot claim credit!

  but it really got me thinking of the practical implications and benefits.... if god had simply created multiple couples instead of one, he would in one foul swoop have solved the problem of incest, as well as have prevented 6 thousand years of human tragedy and a ransom sacrifice being needed etc.

  I think your thoughts have the freshness of “new thinking”. You are really trying to avoid all the obvious obstacles and fallacies, that occur in the old Hebrew Scriptures. However your new and fresh ideas rise a number of new philosophical hard nuts to crack…..Here are a few examples:

  Why did the other new creations have to suffer for the sin that Adam and Eve committed?

  Did God use the same DNA structures to create these “creatures” as he obvious did with Adam and Eve.

  On witch branch on the evolutionary tree shall we put these new creatures? On Ape branch or Lemur branch or some other…..

  When did this creation took place 6000? Years ago or 25.000 years ago? Scientist says that they definitely, can find traces of human activity in some caves in in southern France, and in Turkey from not less then 25.000 years ( agriculture/hunting socit)…Not to say almost all agree on the fact that humans have originated in Africa.

  If the Bible is incorrect when it describes the creation of the first humans, how can we trust it in any other way?

  If the other creations were Gods “children” why did he only concentrate his efforts to raise Adam and Eve´s offspring?

  In this mish mash of raising questions, for me, the only possible answer is “He/She didn´t create anything at all”….The billions of different specimen started with some “bacteria’s” some 3.7 billion years ago now in what is now placed in upper east Canada…. It started the creation of a (not a ladder) but of a gigantic three with millions of branches.

  Of course WTS, is a very high control religion. And of course it has a pacifistic tendency...God will fix the killing later...

  But if the members refuse to let their own children take blood transfusions, if some of the members are willingly to spend their whole lives in in proselytizing new members. If a lot of members thinks "the end is soooo near now", and the others are going to die anyway soon. So if the GB body decide that its better to start the big A, by sending some suicide bombers to the UN building, I am not so sure that they will have difficulties in recruiting some hardcore JW:s. Some of us were stupid enough to bye this a few years ago .....and you know "new light" will come......

  No Simon, it is not over reported. The fact is that Swedish law has become much more strict and if D. Trump actually did “take them on the p…sy, he could face a rather harsh punishment for doing so. Women and girls are more aware of these strict laws against sexual harassments, and they use these laws more often. It is specially, the newcomers, who have no idea of how strict the law are in these cases….Julian Assange is only one example. Think of the people from the middle east who have heard of the sexual freedom in Sweden, Swedish girls, free love a.s.f…And then when they try to explore this, they find themselves charged with a serious crime…Of course the numbers of foreigner are exceeding the numbers of swedes in the statistics, that is no secrets, and those who violent these new laws are sent back to the country they belong to. The government of Sweden has made deals with some countries, Morocco, Afghanistan (and maybe some more) about sending back several 100 hundreds of young boys living on the streets…who doesn´t, understand these rules..

  I want them held to the same level of accountability when they preach hate speech and suggest that entire races or groups should be killed.

  Totally agree with you, but the real problem is that they think they work with God…

  The site you are referring to does not represent the real truth. In fact the Swedish laws have changed quite considerably during the 5-10 years. Raping is now considered quite a very hard crime. Even the an accusation, of rape makes the police quite alert and every case is brought up to the court. Remembering Julian Assange, prisoner at the equator embassy in London…here is a link to the situation:

  It makes the accusation increase with 100%....Lots of girls are relieved by only the fact they know that the state of Sweden listen to them…

  I do remember the times when I got a call from members of BOE and a CO. It was rather embarrassing for them. I simply asked them to give me the answer on some simple questions about the contradictions in the Bible, about how long the time humans have been on earth, about the logic with the sacrificing of Jesus, how God could kill over millions of people in the flood….a.s.f. They blushed all over their face raised and excused themselves with that they were busy…the time was so short now and they must visit all the other that were I the need of a Bible study….. this was several years ago….haven´t seen them in years now…
