I don’t Think that anyone of us have the real true knowledge. We are all on a constant journey, using all our capacity to understand “the world”. Some of us don´t care much about “truth” or evil or God or “understanding”, most of us accept the context of which we are born in. I myself have spent my first 25 years as true atheist. Turned the next 15 years towards a JW. Was an elder, and graduately faded, started to study History of Ideas and Science and Philosophy…. I have read the Bible several times (of course as a JW, and elder) but the reading rose even more questions in my mind. Today I am again un absolutely convinced atheist…I admit that I haven´t read the Koran and all the Suras in there, but I think much of it is only plagiarism…from many of the Hebrew scriptures that were circling around when Mohammed went to war for creating his own Arab tribe religion. If you have the time, pls look up on youtube a professor in old Greek manuscripts namely Bart Ehrman… He has become my “latest” favorite of Schoolars,,,But I am not sure, maybe Jesus will revealed himself for me before I may rest from all the bookreadings..Since you avatar is named the Question, I think you could look up my new started tread “Question” on this site

we all 'exit' in our own way and at our own pace but i'm curious, why carry on stuffing yourself into that stiff suit and tie or meeting dress years after you realised the truth about 'the truth'?.

I do have consider the facts,,,, and the facts make me somewhat confused…. Not all these religious groups, in fact, none of them that I know of, have proven any proof for the existence of any God. In fact it 99 out of 100 MUST be wrong… And if there is 1 on them that actually is right…Why is it so difficult for this “cult” to prove they are right?

A majority of the world’s population acknowledge that they believe in a superior God or in their creator. They also claim that they have got this special understanding and knowledge of his will and his law. None of these religious people can however proof that their God actual exists. Or no one of them can actually disproof the existence of the others God. So everyone with a religion claims that either Jehovah, or Elohim, or Allah, or Vishnu or Zeus or Oden or Thor or…….. is the real creator or the superior God whose law must be obeyed. This due to the fact that they know “it´s God’s law or will”.. This will boil down to every individual church leader, every pastor or publisher, or mullah, or individual person. So if I claim that my God is Oden, and say obey Oden because I know him and his words, and he will destroy you if you don´t …..I can in no way say that my thoughts are wiser, more intelligent or better than your thoughts…

The problem is universal….. almost every religion has people, missionaries, priest’s, publishers, popes, bishops that claim that their interpretation of Gods will is the only that their imaginary God is accepting… How stupid to believe that only you have the wisdom of God….!

just that aspect of the jw belief he is so sensative about.. so 1918 and 1919 are changed with one mark of a pencil.

the argument of change was in the past the argument of the doctrine.

which world is this?_________________when the doctor pulled my screaming body out of mom all those 7 decades ago, i landed in a post-wwii world.it was--compared to today's world--an alien planet.. the world i live in today has nothing in common with the world in which i grew up.. there were no cell phones back then--there were black telephones with a dial-tone and an operator who placed your call.

everywhere you found telephone booths!

Wonderful to remember all this. I have teardrop in my left eye. But I win over you….I was born 1946…!!! Although I have only 6 children. I managed to keep all of them out of the cult. Wife still in but we can accept each other, being married for 42 years, It is hard to broke the bonds. But I hope she will understand TTATT, before I leave the arena….

If "the Truth" is the truth, why are witnesses so scared of research?

it is an often asked question i know, but it perplexes me.. if witnesses are so convinced that they have "the truth", why is the act of researching information from external sources so taboo?

didn't the bible itself tell people to "use their powers of reason" and also praised ones like the boreans for researching things they were told??.

seriously, if there is no doubt about the organization being "god's channel" on earth, and it alone having the "truth", surely researching would only enhance such 'facts'?.
