In Sweden most science are skeptical. The proof are not just good enough. They are looking for DNA and verified carbon dating and Helium Argon dating... and that is very difficult to make...

by James Mixon innot taxing churches is taking as estimated $71 billion from our economy every year.

i check to see and i b-damn, mormon church spends 7% of its annual income on charity, the average for churches are 29% to help the poor.

In Sweden most of the parties claims to be “non religious”, this is but one. The one that claims to be founded on “Christian base”… have less than 3% of the voters. In fact It looks like most of the higher ranked Politian’s are scared of saying that they have some sort of a religious mind or idea. There are examples that ministers and other “high ranked” Politian’s have been found to go to mosques and other Muslim (not extreme) organizations, just to win votes from the more 750.000 Muslims that live in our country. They have been removed from their positions by their parties. This is how it is to live in an extreme secular state. If you search for a job in Sweden, do not ever mention that you are member of a church, specially JW,s….This contrary to what the WBTS tells us on assemblies.

Mental Illness
by Tallon inover many years i have been pondering how mental illness has impacted upon jw's due to the effects of indoctrination.
in my case; when i was 21 i had a breakdown and was hospitalised for 6 weeks.
i was diagnosed with anxiety tension state disorder.

I think you are right, but I also think that you are only seeing the top of an iceberg. There are some scientifically studies on the subject JW/mental illness, but they are very small and not properly done. But from my own experience the rate of anxiety, mental illness and other disorders within the JW are very much higher than in an average population. I myself have suffered from anxiety and in such high degree that fainted and was taken into hospital for observation for a whole week. The doctors ordered me to slow down and resign as an elder….

Even if it's not the truth, it's still the best way to live
by Simon inhow many times did you hear that gem?
it often went along with "the truth is a protection" which is their way of saying "living a moral life is good for you ... and you can't do that without us".. but think about what people are really saying.
i think the real message is "i know it's not the truth, but i chose to follow it anyway".. it seems like a pre-emptive argument because they know they can't defend it as "the truth" so instead they switch to defending it as a lifestyle.. of course any kind of lifestyle that has a decent moral ingredient to it, respect for law and order, discipline etc... probably increases people's chances of doing better in life, but they don't have a monopoly on it.. so just remember, next time you hear someone saying "even if it's not the truth" what they are really admitting is that they already know it isn't..

I like the way you take up the “problem”. I think in fact that our brain capacities are so limited that we cannot actually decide who is right and who is wrong. That is up to every individual “in their own mind” to decide. Meaning that no one really can criticize other human’s decision. Your mathematical discussion is however the only way to make some sort of a logic about it. But it doesn´t tell us what is the correct or not correct decision ethical in our moral compass…. That is yet to be discussed. And it has been discussed, by Kant, Hegel, Kierkegaard and others for several hundreds of years. Another discussion is, if it is right or correct to assume there is a GOD and that he has a wholly scriptures that everyone is obligated to accept, and if everyone must obey the interpretations that their local priest give them on their Sunday service? I have been wondering a numbers of years on these questions and never come to a final answer…

To those taking a stand and not attending the Memorial tonight
by doubtfull1799 ini salute you.
many of you, like me, are probably under enormous emotional pressure, whether from a lingering false sense of guilt from your indoctrination, whether from "invitations," and assumptions that you'll naturally be coming, or whether from outright emotional blackmail, even begging and pleading.
i am thinking of you whoever you are, all of you, even though i don't know you in person.

I haven´t attend any memorial or other meeting for over 10 years now. During the first years with my absence, a few attempts was made to invite me, but the discussions that followed made the elders think it was much better if I stayed at home. My wife however still goes to every meeting, the time I got free, I used to read your comments here….much more spiritual….

I write this only to give you a better picture of what was happening in Stockholm last Friday. A Uzbek’s man named Rakhmat Akilov, stole a truck and killed 4 civil shopping people close to a department store. The man was 39 years of age and had applied for residence permit but got rejected. The Police was notified around febr. 15 and was searching for this man in order to execute the court’s decision. However he kept himself under the radar. When found the police also found his computer and cellphone. In his computer there was a lot violence pornography, and special certain interest in IS execution situation. His cellphone showed that that he obviously have had contact with a Thadszekistan(?) (don’t know the spelling) guerilla movement and a contact named “auk fatuma”. Among other thing he had asked the guerilla movement to teach him how to make a bomb. This Uzbekish or Thadszekistan guerilla movement have been well known as the major requirement base for ISIS/daesch and the Kalifate in Syria/Irak. In fact the ISIS payed $ 2000 for each recruit/trainee that signed up with them.
Rakhmat however in Sweden was not known especially as very religious. He was a “party” man with large appetite in booze and women if he had got his hand on some money. He never visited any of those mosques that exists for both Shia or Sunny Muslims.
And Simon I am sorry that I hastily misspelled the Koran, The Koran in my language is spelled The Koran to! And I am sorry to say I haven´t red it, other than a few “Surhas?”. But they were as uninteresting as most of the Bible chapter that I in fact have been reading. I will not defend any religion at all. I hate religious minds, they are so dangerous since they can confuse even ordinarily intelligent persons to commit the most awful crimes.

The problem is not Islam, Catholics, JW:ism, Radical right wing people, or ultra left wing (PolPot), The problem is this mental mind set, when a person believes he is doing the right thing because his leaders (Bible, choran, Hitler, Stalin) tells him to….
All previous and present religions always attract some mentally disturbed persons that believe they have got the truth. I believe that even some JW.dubs could be capable of commit murder if some of the GB told them to …..
