DEMONS! Experiences With Demons While IN "The Truth?
by Hunyadi inhello all.. i am compiling information about jw's and former jw's who seemed to either have an extra sensativity toward demons, or who had outright experiences with them.
these experiences may include ambiguous contact as well, ie, "i'm not sure what the hell it was, but it was weird.".
what did you do during the experience to resist or make the demon(s) go away?.

I love you - do I?
by donkey inrather than participate in the thread asking if people really loved jehovah i have a different question to ask but it requires a contextual setting prior to being considered.
many posters here at one time loved jehovah and we know our concept of jehovah was that which was created as a result of wt teachings - only to find out that the teachings had no factual basis.
we can also observe people all over the world who worship idols or nature or other gods such as allah or vishnu etc and we know that these people are in love with a god who is not true - if their beliefs about who god is are untrue then they are logically in love with a concept as opposed to a real person or spirit being.

Mitochondrial Eve and Noah's Dames
by donkey infor a brief explanation of mitochondrial eve please refer to http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/alabaster/a703199.
one of the most compelling pieces of evidence against the flood is mitochondrial eve.
if we consider that the bible states noah and co had 4 females on the love boat then all humans today are descended from the 4 women - hence making them collectivley the mitochondrial eve.

The whole biology stuff is balderdash. The biologists also claim that the trees are growing. I have been observing one outside my window, and it has not grown at all during the whole hour I have been staring at it.
Yet old photos show that years ago it has been smaller. The only explanation is that now and then God walks around glueing extra parts to the trees to make them bigger. -

Purple - your response was great - thanks. No I am not studying philosophy - I just think about stuff in my own obscure way and try to make sense of what I see albeit with mixed results. All of this is based on our representations to ourselves and the meanings we attach to things isn't it? If we change the meaning we associate with anything then we change our emotional response and can cope with anything that comes our way.
Philosophy aside - it is interesting to consider that people can love that which is false or that which cannot be proven true and dedicate their life to God and form an emotional attachment with this imagined person. If i did the same with an imaginary friend named Fred people would consider me insane - but because it is an imaginary friend called God we could be called spiritual or complete - ironic huh?

CG,
So the lowest number I have seen proposed by credible science has been 50,000 years but the same scientists upped the top end to 500,000 years. Mitochondrial Eve (ME) is still a pretty new theory so we will see how it plays out. Please remember that the time of the aboriginal population of Australia seems to be 30,000 years ago (this was used as one of the statistical samples in the original ME dating study) and appears to have general acceptance among anthropologists. Either way its a massively long way off from the flood occurring 4,300 years ago.

This being the case all Mitochondrial mutation would have had to occur in the past 4300 years of history - this is simply impossible. I have tried in vain though to explain this to some dubs but they just don't get it...

Max - so if you loved God but later found out that the God you loved did not exist then was that love? Can you love something that isn't true? Can you love a concept or is it just an empty obsession?

Did You Ever REALLY Love Jehovah?
by minimus inwitnesses are taught that they must love their neighbor and jehovah god.
when persons fade away or leave abruptly or get disfellowshipped, you often hear this statement:"well, they obviously never really loved jehovah anyway"........looking back, can you say that at one time you really did love jehovah?
