"The central banks are trying to dissociate financial problems from the real economy. They are pushing the world nearer and nearer to the edge of depression. We hope they will eventually be dragged kicking and screaming to do enough, but time is running out," he said.
  
  Read the whole article and it is some pretty nasty stuff that our financal "leaders" have cooked up to serve us.
  
  All this leads me to predict that the next president of the USA will be Ron Paul. I have not supported Ron Paul and still disagree with him on a few issues. But the one thing Paul has supported for years is the demolition of reserve banking and the return to the gold standard. I predict that we will return to the gold standard as a result of this mess and therefore Ron Paul will be president by default as long as he starts getting his message out in this regard.
  
  Sorry to start 2008 off with more bad news. I wish we could just flip houses and make money instead.

  Restrangled - how are you earning 25-30 percent on retirement funds? While I have had years I've made more than that in no way can I guarantee that I will make 30% on my retirement funds. Please enlighten us on your investing secret. Cheers, Gravey

  The numbers appear to be very questionable. Look at: 1. The number of hours spent / average number of publishers / 12 which gives the average number of hours per month per publisher. That number is rounds to 17.5 hours per month in field service per publisher. Complete drivel. 2. Has anyone put together a trending chart for the last 20 years showing the number of memorial partakers? More drivel... Cheers, Gravey

  i just got off the phone with carla.

  carla and paula's mother has just passed away.

  carla said that paula had been checking her post on and off all through the night and that it gave her much comfort in knowing that so many replied and showed that they cared.

  I appreciate your candor and honesty. Looking back at that comment and some of the others yu have made I have to say: You were right, Simon. Bush is a complete moron and has dragged America down. I did not see it as clearly as you did at the time - but I agree completely now.

  As a matter of fact I am also friends with Mike Hooper - it's a pity you guys had a falling out. I don't know any of the details - don't really want to - but Mike was there for me when I needed a friend to talk to a few years ago and was very supportive.

  BTW the new search is pretty good.

  Is the NWT really the most accurate translation of the Bible?

  i have heard jw claim that the nwt is the most accurate translation of the bible and the persons who translated the bible were inspired by the holy spirit.

  but if this is so then why was the nwt revised so many times?

  did the holy spirit get it wrong the first time?

  Since no one can show you the source (the original) of course it isn't.

  Same applies to all other translations too of course. Logically they are all just a long chain letter with each claiming to be the authentic translation.

  Simon:

  Blair doesn't like the BBC because it stood up to him and questioned the pretences for his war.

  The fact is, they reported the news and it was an embarrassing episode for America IMO.

  I found it interesting as one poster here started a thread (after Katrina hit) asking Americans if we were 'ashamed and embarassed' by the chaos in New Orleans.

  And his overall posting on said thread seemed to be filled with 'hatred toward America'..
