  Money and career tips for EX-JWs....

  it's a safe bet that if you were raised as a jw, or if you came into it early in life, you have some strange ideas about money and finances.

  the wt for decades made even minimal post-secondary education utterly taboo and only recently has capitulated that "some" extra schooling might be neccessary (associate degrees good, bachelors degrees bad).

  the average youth raised a jw has little understanding of investment due to the apocalyptic worldview of the organization (why invest in a dying system when the big "a" is right around the corner?).

  if your wife/partner were to slap you during an argument, would you feel that if you were you to hit back it would make you equal?.

  we all know that violance, no matter how minor is wrong, but this is a question about equality.

  Do Nice Guys Really Finish Last?

  i was just thinking about this and would like to get other opinions.. girls, do you tend to fall for nice guys?

  and by nice guys i mean guys who fall all over you and worship the ground you walk on?.

  because frankly, i cannot deal with guys like this.

  A sincere question about prayer for any kinds of Christians out there...

  a few weeks ago, i received a mass e-mail from one of my mainstream christian friends requesting prayers for headaches she's been having.

  i wrote back and told her i hoped she felt better (i'm personally not religious at all).

  today, i got another mass e-mail thanking everyone for their prayers, and that her headaches were gone now through the grace of god.

  FLAT TAX

  the taxes filed thread got me to thinking....what say we here in the us go to a flat tax....18% for those who make over $35,000 a year...no deductions.

  I pay 20% taxes on the money I make on Tuesdays...

  I pay 30% taxes on the money I make on Wednesdays...

  I pay 40% taxes on the money I make on Thursdays...

  I pay 50% taxes on the money I make on Fridays...

  ...think I'll just take Friday's off!!!

  skeptics and the paranormal

  i?m almost sure that skeptics will remain silent on this or say it?s an aberration and does nothing to confirm the existence of paranormal activity.

  skeptics assert that they will not accept such things unless they meet some predefined ?scientific methodology?.

  I believe it is important for me to attain freedom from dependency wherever possible.

  Dependency is the ultimate weakness and lack of dignity. When we have no choices we are no longer living then we are just existing and at that stage we are no different than any other animal on the planet.

  Free the Donkey's!!!!!
