Men are not looking forward to becoming Elders or Ministerial Servants

i have noticed an apparently increasing number of men who are not interested in becoming ministerial servants or elders.

i also know of some that have voluntarily stepped down (which is my case) for no obvious solid reason.. i remember, during my teenage years or even during my twenties, the brothers were always looking forward to being appointed... although many still do, i have noticed there are many others with whom you do not know what the deal is.. since there is no freedom of speech within the organization, we remain in the dark about the motives and desires of everybody else.

i attend a congregation with only two ministerial servants, while it is full of men who do not seem to be willing to do more.. it is hard to tell exactly what is going on, since honesty is not possible while you are inside, but i am starting to think that more and more are becoming disillusioned.... .

Thanks for this post. These words of yours are the great tragedy of the ORG:

there is no freedom of speech within the organization … honesty is not possible while you are inside.

Perhaps this is why only incompetent men reach out.

mean that as things stand, this oral agument will take place on Jan. 14th? Or does the "continued" mean it might be delayed?

Also is anyone here going to be present at this argument? There's nothing like a live report.

So what happened to Mario? Was he DFed for disagreeing with the ORG? Or was he declared "disassciated" or what? No ordinary person can stand up the ORG that way and just be ignored...

i was asked recently by a still in friend (it was meant sincerely not sarcastically).

"but what do you do with that scripture so far as not attending meetings?".

i typed hebrews 10:25 in to the search bar but didnt get much.. .

Of course, different people's situations are different, but you're still able to go (not DFed/DAed) and if you can stomach it, you could always pop into a meeting once in a while and then say, "See, I'm not FORESAKING them. I'm just irregular. Heb. 10 is about those foresaking the meetings."

Just a thought if it helps you deal with friends/famly still in, like many members here have.

Need a 1961 green JW bible.

i have a family member that will not believe that the jws put a dinosaur in the front cover of thier bible.

i am looking for a copy that has that map inside front cover with the raptor.

if anyone has one they can sell let me know.

I forgot about that! Thanks for the reminder. I think I must have wondered about that when I was young. I remember that it struck me as odd.

Does anyone else find it odd that there are females on this list? So is this legal area one in which the Org makes an exception to the role of sisters? Anyone know the story here?
