  Might this talk by Noumair have behind it the dismissal of Wally Liverance and and Lawrence Bowen who were dismissed some years ago from being Gilead instructors? Surely they have now been branded as pushing ahead, being independent, etc. since they said some things that were not official doctrine. These are the things he speaks against.

  Thank you for posting this. At least they're being honest here in saying "you're all just company men," something they haven't always been so eager to state openly. Perhaps because this is such an in-house event, they let some real truth bluntly slip out.

  Who was the speaker of that talk on Sweeter Than Honey? I didn't catch his name.

  BTW, does anyone know the current status on these schools? That is, is the school for single bros. still going? The one for couples too? Is the standard Gilead school still going? I can't keep them all straight.

  we hear of shocking changes to come, for old timers and young, were surprised before, saying perhaps: "how dare they-- the scriptues-- the early christians--" we might think, but yesterday,.

  reading coc the above line came into view , and it struck me: here is the mindset in bethel.

  power is invested in them, and they will change it, under the guise of ruling for christ.. i am, or was, primarily interested in doctrine, and these changes, (capitals mine) that adams, the head of the writing department, referred to during the research for the 'aid" book, was on governance in the congregation,.

  It's safe to say that many, perhaps most, of the changes in recent years, that is, after Freddie Franz stopped pontificating regular doctrine (even before his death), have come about for practical reasons, not due to any "searching the scriptures" to find out what they mean on their own. For example, the sharpening of "loose conduct" to morally shocking behavior was motivated by an attempt to find a reason for DFing those who would go to strip clubs, download porn, etc. Most of us who have been around the org a while have heard phrases from local elders like, "Don't worrry, We'll just get him/her on rebellion," meaning that rebellion will be the judical charge. They're just trying to get more specific, have more weapons in their arsenal to use against those not in line. Most of the changes in doctrine have the goal of something parctical. Likely others are due to protests from opposers. Jim Penton had for years been saying that the "faithful slave" was really just the GB. Then they change that doctrine to what Penton had said.

  Just some thoughts, nothing heavy duty.

  If this has any truth to it, then COs will visit local congos where some elders who post here can witness it themselves and tell us about it. I'm sure the GB & their lackies ARE trying to root out "spies" and "leakers." Let's hear from some active elders on this one...

  If the book "Crisis of Conscience" were widely available in Spanish, the Watchtower Corporation would suffer huge losses....

  i have been looking high and low for a hard copy of "crisis de conciencia" for the past 4 years now... i've yet to find it anywhere new or old.

  if i could, i would purchase at least 16 of these books and mail them to 16 spanish-speaking jws i know in the states and south america.

  it would definitely cause at least 7 of those jws to wake up... i just know it.. now i know it's available in pdf, but most latin american countries are not into e-readers when reading voluminous writings such as this book.

  I did a search 8 months ago for Ray's books. It took a while but I was able to find a free copy of CofC, 4th English ed. for DLing. It took maybe an hour to find. I'm sure you can still find copies that way, if you stick to it. Evidently plenty of people have uploaded it/them.

  some recent posts on this site have really got me thinking.

  the kingdom halls are all paid for by their congregations - as are the assemblies and the conventions (none of it comes out of the wtbts pocket).

  every single assembly and convention i have ever been to there is always a surplus of money that is sent back to the society.

  A long-time trustworthy source revealed to me last year when I met up with him, that a member of the Britain Branch Committee had confided a couple of years earlier that the Org had serious financial problems, but that they'd overcome them

  How in the world could this have come about? Had they invested lots of $$ with Bernie Madoff or what? Is it not more likely that this committee member has been given a line? Or that he's been told to deftily put this sort of message out so that more contributions flow in?

  Forgive my skepticism---too many years of seeing shady behavior within the borg... It's hard to rebuild trust.

  Right you are. All sorts of composers during and after the Protestant Reformation used "Jehovah" (Bach, Wesley). In fact the songbook used during the Russell era had some of these hymns in it.

  in 1993 the jehovah's witnesses in ventura, santa barbara, san luis obispo, monterery, stanislaus, san fransisco, alemeda counties were spreading word of the miracle worker of money from san fransisco.

  word traveled throughout the circuit overseers, district overseers telling everyone these brothers in san fransisco were paying 15% for "180 days loans"without any risk, most of these jws were elders and cos and dos, it was only among them the scam remained to create a "in crowd feeling" and left out non elders setting up the sheep for something special down the road!

  When I was in I didn't know any CO millionaires. Rather they were sort of glorified pioneers. Wow, things must have really changed. Is is the Borg paying them big bucks now?

  i've seen him referred to as both on this forum.. did he sincerely believe that he was an inspired prophet whose end-time predictions and biblical interpretations came from god?

  or was he just a shrewd businessman who saw a market of disillusioned christians who believed that armageddon was imminent that he could exploit?.

  i personally lean toward the latter.. .

  what is done with the spare evening?

  as well as all the info. That 1935 was truly big when I was in, but now, as you put it, it's all ignored. There's such a long history of such changes...
