  VICKI BOER CAMPAIGN FUND

  I agree about keeping any funds away from the WTS's grubby little paws and maybe a non formal agreement is best for this based on trust. If anything is signed over or allocated to them, even if offshore, then I suspect it will be treated as an asset (I'm no expert, jst going off how tax and stuff tends to work).
  

  One other thing ... I hate to put the dampers on things but I think we should be realistic. Getting people to donate money is difficult and we're not going to put a small dent in such a big amount. What we can do though is show that we care and maybe put a smile on someones face once in a while.

  as I posted on an earlier thread - yes it would be good to set up a Trust Fund away from the WT - as the WT are reading this they are rubbing their hands as they see pledges roll-in -

  Canadian Law not my speciality but here in the UK Discretionary Trusts (funds administered by Trustees at their sole discretion in favour of the Trust Holder) are a simple thing and usually used to avoid Tax etc - Funds are deposited in an account and the Trustees can administer the income and or capital to ensure the welfare and well-being of the Trust Beneficiary - with small payments, amounts for specific costs etc .

  Funds specifically established to help defray Court Costs (in the UK at least but I think this applies to the USA & Canada) are very dangerous as the Courts take the view they can demand a list of donors and the WT would be fre to "join" the donors to its claim against Vicki and hence hold each one liable to an equal portion of the total costs. Clear precedents of this exist in the UK with donors to such even being made bankrupt by the aggressive corporation pursuing its costs. Funds for this appeal COULD be held outside Canada ( & US) and would have more protection than if they were available in Continental America.

  Emotions say collect money - sense says take good advice - do not do something rashly that might exacerbate the problem

  PS in the UK any fundraising of any kind at all requires registration with the Charities Commission or else the collection is illegal and the funds are taken over by the Charities Commission to do with as they wish - remember the enemy here is evil, cunning and very very rich when it comes to legal costs.

  HARSH FINAL COURT DECISION IN VICKI BOER V. WATCHTOWER TRIAL

  i have some unique and troubling news.

  i just got off the telephone with scott boer, vicki boer's husband and before that vicki.

  her honour, justice anne molloy, has just ruled on the legal cost issue in the boer case.

  Publicity is the only weapon against these vermin - it seems that strictly in the legal sense the Court Judgement is correct on the fine points of law - but the WT should be above such things...it may be that the publicity which must follow this may make some stop and think

  I dont think an appeal fund is a good idea as who would want to put money in the hands of the Brooklyn legal department? ANy other ideas of how we could help without actually giving money to the WT please let us know - is there any way we can set up a Trust Fund for her which can be secured against lien by the WT?

  Did You Think "Jehovah" Was Responsible For Everything Good In Your Life?

  i've heard all my life, that anytime something good happened, we should thank jehovah for doing it.

  if something bad happened, like being attacked by the "demons", it was because a person didn't have the complete "suit of armor" from god.

  i know many of the "friends" that credit jehovah god for giving them a sunny morning, a pay raise at work or an end to their cough and cold.....were you one of those that believed jehovah was behind everything that happened in your life?

  No - nor did I blame Satan for the bad either - however it was a rule generally for brothers (and in particular sisters) to follow the "thank Jehovah - Blame Satan" school of thinking. As others have posted was Jehovah partial - saving some but overlookig others ?

  I have known many that are tyrannical, brutal, arrogant and uncaring but I suspect that had these persons not been Jehovah's Witnesses they would very likely have been the same kind of people.

  Sadly the fruitage of such ones exposes them as they clearly have not put on a new personality if this is the sort of people they are

  I have know genuine elders - generally experienced and older - I have seen younger ones destroy lives, eradicate love and steamroller over anything in their way to approval from the current CO and assembly parts etc.

  SanFransiscoJim - it makes me ashamed that I was part of the organisation that treated you that way

  The role of the CO is strong here in that a rigid CO drives an attitude thru the circuit that is rigid whereas a tolerant loving CO motivates another spirit entirely - as I have posted before - the difference from town to town - cong to cong - country to country stuns me - its a lottery where you live as to what sort of elders u get - and that cannot be right.

  When in the "truth" I could cope with the hope but not with the despair............failings of elders, hypocrisy, teachings etc

  Now have lost the "hope" but have ditched the despair so on balance YES I am much happier now - also I am not carrying the eldrer baggage of other peoples burdens - life is much easier

  one of the cornerstones of jw's is counsel.

  they just love to give counsel and many times they will literally make things up just for the sake of counsel.

  i was once counselled for joking around too much.

  The last generation ends in 2005

  the generation of the anointed ends in 2005 as that will conclude 70 years since the last of that special group was chosen in 1935. for many jehovah's witnesses this may be something to look forward to, but have they really thought this through?

  by logically working through their doctrine of the last generation it appears that god favors the dead.

  here is my latest findings on the last generation of jehovah's witnesses and the conclusion that if the watchtower is right, then god missed the boat by sending jehovah's witnesses to start their preaching work over 100 years ago.. http://jwinfoline.com/documents/prophecy/last_generation.htm.

  We may or may not be able to pin the "2005" thing on the WT society, but surely they are not unhappy that there is such speculation running throughout a portion of their membership. It only helps bind the people tightly to the false hopes they are purveying.

  Gopher - I think you are right in that the society would not be seen to take the lead in pushing this (dont blame us it didnt happen we never said it) but it suits their purpose as will later dates as this one fails - I agree entirely with your view that the date thing - soon, round the corner, near at hand etc etc ad nauseam is crap and I am only sorry that I accepted it for decades.
