Coming out to the closet to your family as an "apostate". Any experiences? Your input would be greatly appreciated.

so it's been about 10 years since i have faded out and have stopped believing in the jw teachings.

since then, i have accepted jesus and have experienced an amazing tranformation in my life and have been freed from the jw prison mentally and spiritually.

a more detailed thread about my journey is here if you are interested.. anyways, my jw family lives in another state so they are unaware that i am no longer "in the truth" since i have not told them.

I don't advocate living a lie, pretending to be something you aren't, but that doesn't mean that you have to tell your parents everything about what you do and do not believe.

"Coming out" may seem like a good idea, but what do you have to gain? You have much to lose.

I know a young man that recently "came out" to his family about his beliefs concerning this religion. I tried to talk him out of it first, but he was determined.

After the told them he no longer believed JWs "are the truth" he called me to tell me how it went. He said he thought he would feel better, but instead he felt terrible.

So far they aren't shunning him. But many, many people lose families over this.

We tell them they're in a cult. They deny it and shun us thereby proving our point, yet they fail to see this. That's how messed up someone is that is fully indoctrinated in the JW mentality and mindset.

Gog of Magog is still SATAN!!!

during the public discourse today the brobot talked about the gog of magog, and he stated that he was satan!!!

i had to ask my wife if i heard him correctly, and she said yes he said it is satan.... i couldnt wait to run up to the brobot after the meeting and inform him of he "new light" we just recieved yesterday!!!

when i approached him i asked him : what is gog of magog?

About a year ago I had a meeting with three elders. All hardcore types. All three of them were completely wrong about the changes in New Light.

Even the ones that try can't keep up with the silly doctrinal changes.

AGM 2014 - How are faders gonna hide in plain sight anymore?

so two big changes in the org were announced in the most recent agm.. local needs part is replaced by "how do you know the truth" where all members will tell their experience (oh what fun).

basic pioneer role 10 only hours a month required (see, jehovah lightens our load, therefore he loves only us)!.

it seems like they have really turned up the heat here.
