She needs to be called on her games and manipulation.
Do it kindly, firmly and not in anger, but do it!
i've tried taking the slow, patient approach with my wife.
i believe i first posted here about 13 months ago about my wife.. we've always had good communication and could talk endlessly about philosophy, neuroscience, sociology and then when i learned the ttatt, i clammed up a bit about spiritual things.
i'd always been fairly liberal, suggesting other alternative ideas, but then i told my wife about the un/ngo scandal (i ran across the guardian story doing a talk as an ms, lol!

Those ARE spiritual things!
"of course,a close relationship will not last if one person does all the talking.
(in this case it is me talking to god)just as friends enjoy two-way communication,(right on)we should allow god to speak to us(yes i have allowed him to speak but he says nothing)and we should listen to him when he does.
(iam still waiting for him to say something).
If you talk to God, you are praying; If God talks to you, you have schizophrenia. - Thomas Szasz
it amazes me!.
witnesses go on about how "blessed we are to have the website and all the content from jehovah etc".
but i have been noticing the parallels between jws and the mormons!.
Maybe the JWs can copy the Mormons and admit they have been wrong to hide their very flawed past!
i know this is going to come up in a conversation shortly, how would you respond to this?
i've had it said to me before, specifically about health, one week wine/eggs/milk/axle grease is good for you, next week it's not..

Those kinds of statements are generally found in women's magazines at the supermarket, not scientific journals.
Some journalist cherry-picks a quote from a medical study without understanding the context or how to frame it and then it gets repeated by your ordinary, average yahoo that also doesn't know how to interpret it in any kind of context.
The goal of every one of us should be to be scientifically literate.

i've been learning a lot more about the universe, galaxies, planet formations, etc.
it's amazing how stars are constantly recycled, they form from gathering all the dust/gas/mass around them, the heat and pressure as the mass gets larger, producing stronger gravity, and depending on it's makeup creates fusion, turning into a star, then when it dies, it turns into a supernova, explodes, and sends it's matter out there for other stars to form, etc.
now galaxies do the same thing, and supposedly in many billons of years many galaxies will have eaten others, and if blackholes or something pulling in all the stars and mass is at the centers of these galaxies, then eventually everything would turn into one huge mass.
What "makes sense" is actually irrelevant. We should all learn to accept what the evidence says and try to avoid being prejudiced by our own pre-conceptions and biases.
I am actually listening to a talk by Carl Sagan on this very point. It was in his acceptance speech when he was was named the AHA’s Humanist of the Year in 1981, AHA Conference in San Diego, California.

sister pioneer, always thinking of how to expose false religion and promote true worship, finds out that many mormons are becoming disillusioned with the mormon faith because of the revelations being exposed on the internet.
if it is exposing the mormons, it would help to expose other false religions.she puts two and two together and comes up with a plan.. after the next meeting she asks the boe to meet with her at the back room.. ' with all in attendance brother jorgenson speaks first.... brother jorgenson: ' sister pioneer, this is most unusual but we know you are excited about something.
tell us what is on your mind.
Brother Jorgenson: "That's great for everyone else, but we have "the Truth" so we don't need to do that!"
i've been a lurker for quite some time and enjoy the forum.
i've reached a point in life where i don't argue ideologies anymore so i don't have much to say.
i've been out for decades and believe i've been mostly de-cultabilized (if that's even a word).. my family is still in and i haven't had contact with them in years.
TM: We should have a right to discuss whatever we choose, how else can we grow.
Exactly!
I look forward to more of your posts!
yet watchtowers go way back to 1950's....i picked up three awake volumes 1967-1969 i was struck by the poor science {aluminium is posion}, demon articles and anti-organ transplant articles.
also much was said about 1975 being the end of the system and "the generation.
" it feels like fred franz was writting alot of these which now is plain embarrasing and better left un-published.. .
And for the same reason, their website doesn't have access to articles older than the year 2000.
Let's review: It's a cult!
