if he tells on me then i will have to deal with the situation with the eldubs and get into a whole mess with the brainwashed wife.
You absolutely do NOT have to deal with the elder.
The wife is another situation.
so i started working at this place 4 years ago.. and i am usually myself a still-in inactive atheist jw at work.
after several months i came to realize the guy i work with is a devout jw... im always afraid of running into him in the conventions.. he is in a different circuit but im afraid he might show up in one of the district conventions.. i am dreading that day...

you know, i always maintained that during this fading process, and while learning ttatt, i would not let myself get "bitter twisted and angry".... but, in all honesty, if i examine myself, i have become quite bitter toward the org, toward the false friends and the gb.. i have become angry as i see the extent of damage i feel being raised in "the truth" has done.... i feel hurt towards the lost opportunities in life etc.... how do i not allow myself to get too swallowed up by such bitterness?.
i have always been a very happy, positive, selfless person.
i can put people at ease, i am someone people feel comfortable chatting to.
Stuck, there is a grieving process that you need to go through.
It takes time. You can't rush it or force it.
Are you familiar with the Kubler-Ross model of the 5 Stages of Grief?
1. Denial and Isolation
2. Anger
3. Bargaining
4. Depression
5. Acceptance
Here are a couple of articles you might find helpful:
I've heard several people say that it takes about 1 month of time away for every year you were in a dysfunctional relationship to heal. I think it is probably longer.

User100: im just afraid he'll be shocked and then run to the eldubs and tell on me
And so what if he does?

bodies of elders around the world will soon (tm) receive a nicely worded letter from the christian congregation of jehovah's witnesses, telling them that local elders are now responsible for ensuring that no perverts are allowed to be alone with any children on any kind of witness business, otherwise, the boe will be accountable to the courts - not the org!.
however, if the elders are aware that bro.
& sister oblivious sometimes ask bro.
It would seem likely that the WT leadership will shift the onus onto local elders.
Maybe they'll actually adopt the policy Allen Shuster claimed in his testimony exists.
One response would be to adopt the policy that known pedophiles cannot participate in Field Service at all, ever. I don't see them doing this, but it is one way to handle the problem.
my wife asked me to attend the special talk with her because she wants to attend something like this as a family and feels that she "enjoys worshipping together" as a family.
i have not been to church for at least a year and have pretty much abandoned the practicing of my faith but i can remember how i used to want to have a church going family so i obliged.
i feel kind of apprehensive about doing these things because she wants the kids and i to be on our best behavior and has even fussed at me for playing tablet games during other talks.
explain to me why a Bible study cannot be a simple reading of the Bible
That's a great question. You should insist that your wife answer it.
The real answer is that studying the Bible alone would never lead a person to accept the numerous WT teachings, practices and doctrines.
But more importantly, it would not lead a person to profess obedience to the organization. Ultimately, it's about control. The WTBTS is a high-control, authoritarian religion. The Bible alone is insufficient to indoctrinate an individual into their belief system.
stemming from the 'absentheism' thread, an old question came to my mind.
what exactly is "belief"?.
is it the same to ask: "do you believe in god?
Fink: Belief is holding to an expressed conceptual idea without testable evidence.
You go to far when you add, "without testable evidence."
i'm not an expert but that is my understanding of this: .
opinion filed.. (signed published) the judgment against defendants on the negligence count is affirmed.
the judgment against watchtower on the cause of action for punitive damages is reversed with directions to enter judgment for watchtower on punitive damages.
Their own words condemn them.
From the Court of Appeals Opinion, page 11:Defendants [the WTBTS and the elders of the Fremont congregation] initially demurred, and have consistently argued throughout the case that they had no duty to prevent Conti from being molested by Kendrick.
Translation: It's not my job, man!

From the Court of Appeals Opinion, page 7:
Awake!, October 8, 1993 issue, which addressed the question “How Can We Protect Our Children?” ... The discussion under that heading stated: “Tragically, adult society often unwittingly collaborates with child abusers. How so? By refusing to be aware of this danger, by fostering a hush-hush attitude about it, by believing oft-repeated myths. Ignorance, misinformation, and silence give safe haven to abusers, not their victims.” - [Emphasis added]
so by now most of us have heard about (or watched) the april broadcast and the ridiculous "experience" of the guy that asked god to fix his construction leak before he believed in him..... so, what would you like to "pray that god fixes" in your life??.
humorous or serious replies welcome!
(although sarcastic, cynical and funny replies preferred hehe).
James Mixon: A large angel will appear by your bedside tonight.
No angel showed. But my wife was there. We made love. It was pretty amazing!
