Why doe New light tick me off???? Next 2 weeks WT Studies

if you have been a jw for 20+ years you may remember that the wt went into great detail on different illustrations that jesus used and the "type/anti-type" ridiculous explanations.

remember the revelation book and how those obscure jw conventions of the past pictured big things in heaven and the opening of seals?

anyway, the wt lessons for the next two weeks do two big things for me.

so as i am "listening" to the wt study going on this question was asked.

"how do you feel about refined understanding?".

some of the comments were:.

Every leader of the WTBTS for the last 130+ years has been wrong about every significant thing they ever taught. Everything.

How does that indisputable fact inspire "trust"?!?

This should be a major WTF moment for everyone.

Are the writers in the writing department purposely misquoting people?

after reading that great post about the june 1 article on science i got to thinking.

although it is great to believe there is this huge group of guys in the jw writing department that are constantly looking to mislead us by twisting the words of scientist etc... i really think it is more likely they are google researchers that do not have the ability to grasp the thoughts that are being expressed in the scientific article they quote mine from.. i honestly believe the reason that this happens is because of the individuals they use to write these magazines.

these are not college educated men.

If you've never read the series of Awake! articles on propaganda referenced in my post above, you really owe it to yourself to do so.

They are very well written and clearly define what propaganda is and how many different groups and individuals have used it in the past and continue to use it today.

When you then understand that the writers of the WT publications clearly understand propaganda, can recognize it in the work of others and know how to use it, it then becomes obvious that at least some of their use of its techniques in their own writings is deliberate. (I'll acknowledge that some may also be unconscious due to their beliefs and biases).

But the key point is this: If the writers of WT publications are guilty of even one single deliberate act of using the techniques of propaganda in a dishonest way to lie, deceive or otherwise mislead, then it is prima facie proof that they are not God's representatives.

It's really that simple.

Do the WT Publications show people how to think, or what to think? (The answer is NOT in the paragraph. You'll have to think for yourself).
Does the WT Leadersip encourage or discourage open discussion and debate about ideas and doctrine?
Do the WT Publications ever accept input from their members or do they only " relentlessly force you to hear their view"?

Specific Comments By R&F About May Broadcast

i know there are many posts discussing the may money requesting televangalism...er... broadcast i mean!

but i wanted to start one where anyone can put what they have heard any non-exjw, non-apostate witnesses say good or bad about the broadcast.

i don't see how it can't rattle followers... but then again i might be surprised how they can twist things (2+2=5).

Just to qualify this a little, since I stopped going to meetings and have clearly shown my apostate side, she has gone into drone overload, more service, studying more, not even missing the occasional meeting, and sadly reporting everything I say and do to the elders.

How can ANYONE act like this and not see that they are in a cult?!?

German Branch visit talk Mark Sanderson (Parents; don't hinder young children to get baptized)

the video streaming of the german branch visit program was excrutiating 3.5 hours long.. i just went to see the last 45 min (part of mark sandersons talk).. i think sanderson is quite a sympathetic speaker and he kind of made a loving impression.. he didn't mention controversial stuff (except for one thing i will come to soon).

he mostly talked about how to find joy, even when life is not easy, and how much the gb loves the rank and file.. one point seemed soooo important to him.
