Jesus, who was the object of false accusations, warned his followers that enemies would persecute them ...
The difference being that the WTBTS is the object of TRUE ACCUSATIONS!
Let's review: It's a cult!
the last article in this new wt, shows me that the organization is dealing with much information that is damaging them.
i am sure that the many recent lawsuits are being noticed by the r&f.. here are some gems from that article, titled the naive person believes every word.
we must be very selective about what we consider worthy of our attention.

i really enjoy hearing about other people's lives.
feeling a little lonely this evening so please tell me if you have plans for the summer months.
i may go to some outdoor theatre with my daughter who's home from uni; with a picnic and a bottle of wine.
Since you asked: I'm currently at a two week conference for science teachers being held at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. It's intense, but really amazing at the same time. We are focusing on helping students construct their own understanding by building progressive models of the fundamental particles of matter .... but I digress.
At the end of July, my wife and I will be spending a couple of weeks on the east Coast of the US visiting family. I'm really looking forward to that as well!

14:45 ... the governing body very much feels the urgency of accomplishing as much as we possibly can, in behalf of kingdom interests, knowing that the great day of jehovah is near....
... in an effort to inform you of the support that is needed for this great work, i have the following information to share.
For example, who of you wanting to build a tower does not first sit down and calculate the expense to see if he has enough to complete it? - Luke 14:28
Apparently the Governing Body doesn't!
hi, i'm new here but hadn't seen this mentioned anywhere yet.
during the "imitate jesus" rc there was a strange moment where they played a video of a brother trying to explain the 1914 teaching.
the brother quickly goes through all the scriptural "proofs" and the householder is dumbfounded.
Ok, that is just dumb.
This religion has really jumped the shark!
i was trying to think of one teaching or doctrine that has remained consistent from the society's inception to now, and couldn't.
.
can you give me one?.
Bumpin' it for the newbies!

I don't think ToMo III could get it up with a crane and three Russian sex slaves.
Besides, taking into consideration his fixation with young men in colored sox and tight pants, I think you've got a plaything of the wrong gender hanging from the ceiling.
a witness friend wanted to meet up recently and talk.
since this person was a close friend and who i thought had a level head, i'd go ahead and speak with him.
our conversation actually helped me figure a few things out not only for myself but also about the witnesses.. so we're talking and i'm telling him my experience and the doctrines that i disagreed with as well as the scandals that made me disgusted with the organization.
Your friend needs to read this thread:
-
And then read this post from 00DAD on page 2 of that thread:
So we've got only two beliefs that have remained from Russell's time until now:
1. Soul Sleep, taken from the Second Adventists, which has two sub-beliefs:
-
2. Gentile Times ended in 1914 which came from:
-
So practically EVERYTHING taught in Russell's time has been since discarded except two basic beliefs, one of which he got from another religion and the other conceived of and then twisted and mangled by a bunch of crackpots all vying for one-upsmanship to prove their personal understanding of the incontrovertible Word of God!

Garrett's friend: those are small details, the core of our beliefs hasn't changed
Not to diss your friend overmuch, but that is completely NOT true.
i recently attended the rc for my area.
while there, i encountered a old family "friend" who recently lost her jw husband.
as the interaction proceeds she relates that her grand daughter, who's around my age (early twenties) has "left jehovah".
eyeuse2badub: RC in Long Beach, CA this past weekend only 29 baptized of the 7,000+ in attendance. Everyone is waking up it seems.
That's less than 1/2 of 1 percent!
When I became a JW in the '80s it was usual to have 1.5 - 2% of the attendance baptized.
my guy with the lurk account on jwtalk (where all the kool-aid drinking jws go to talk about how wonderful 'the twoof' is) sent me some more interesting threads, here's one:.
spoiler: starting new the new service year september.
"there will be new directives from the branch through the circuit overseer on dress and grooming that will disqualify one to be a congregation publisher.
Controllers gotta control.
It's not surprising that the OP used the word "heterosexual" incorrectly. This religion is run by ignorant fools.
Anthony Morris apparently confused yoga pants with Spanx. What a maroon.
Seriously, what is their fixation with how people dress? And why is ToMo checking out the young brothers in tight pants? Maybe he shouldn't let his eyes linger ...
I'm just sayin' is all!
