my family has been out (inactive no meeting attendance or field service) for just over two years..
weve made many changes in our lives, including with our personal appearances (tattoos, piercings etc) that are a pretty obvious sign that we arent going back any time soon.
our families went through a period of time about a year ago when they made a lot of threats that if we left the truth, they wouldnt even be able to share a meal with us, they would stay loyal to jehovah etc.
It is quite a dilemma to be in.
Not really. Tell your mom that she can of course be herself around your kids, but you do NOT want her trying to indoctrinate or teach them religious beliefs.

well, our sister congregation just had their co visit this past week.
on saturday afternoon, i was talking to a couple of ministerial servants in that congregation and they stated that an unmarried brother is not fulfilling to the max what jehovah wants of us.
they stated that the co went on a tirade that if you are unmarried you are being selfish and not following what jehovah wanted for mankind since he created eve as a compliment for the man.

i saw an instagram post showing a short clip of a talk being given in one of our southern states.
the talk clip showed speaker making the statement, "jehovah doesn't want anyone to know satans real name, jehovah hates satan so much, he doesn't even want his name mentioned" .

Nothing. It's still there. Jehovah loves you ... unless of course you piss him off somehow, then he is going to have to kill you ... unless you're David or another of his faves, then he'll give you a pass for no particular reason other than that he's God and that's what he does ... but he might have to kill your little baby boy just to remind you he's God ... but don't forget: God loves you ... unless of course you piss him off somehow ....

JA: I'm beginning to see that it is important that when a person leaves the WT, that person needs to get busy and starts building up a good life. Not only is it good for that person to heal but it might help others see the ridiculousness of pursuing goals like pioneering, Bethel, Circuit Overseer, Missionary.

i'm not talking about the jw who, whether df'd or not, falls off the radar and just gets on with living a normal life - good luck to them and may there be many more!.
i mean the former jehovah's witness who is now enjoying all the benefits of a cult free life thanks to the efforts of many bloggers, posters and activists, but is critical of the efforts of someone close them to free more jws.

When you say she doesn't know TTATT, I would have to disagree. She might not know that term and all of the doctrinal problems with this religion, but she certainly knew that she didn't want to be part of it simply because of the way she was mistreated.

jacksonville, fl - the local newspaper had an article on the convention going on for the next two weekends.
while i could not find the article, i was able to find this slide show of this weekend's events.
the newspaper article was interesting as it discussed what a wonderful job they were doing cleaning the arena seats and bathrooms and everyone was enjoying their job.
