by Oubliette ini'm curious.
what do you know from your own experience and talking to other active jws?
i know from my own informal, non-scientific survey that most jws do not watch jw.tv.

Everyone else, thanks for your input. So far the consensus: there is no consensus. But it certainly isn't getting much attention outside of jw-land. -

Ricky: Anyways, my story is not unique. I lost just about everything, family, friends, home, possessions.
Sadly this is very true.
However, the part about you and your wife potential reconciling is very unusual. Good for you and your kids!
Welcome,

FOOTPRINTS
by Nathan Natas inone night i dreamed i was walking along the beach with the lord.
many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
so i said to the lord, "you promised me lord, that if i followed you, you would walk with me always.

The Lord replied, because I am IMAGINARY, you peckerhead!
But if he's imaginary, then how could he "reply"?
I knew it had to be a send-up when I saw that it was you posting this old chestnut!!!

Bethelite"s wife storms out of headquarters and leaves him...she was forced into Bethel. My story begins....
by Witness 007 inwe were all in our 20's the 1990's pioneers who still hoped the 1914 generation was for real.
jenny {names changed} loved peter who was younger then me and very handsome.
he wanted to go to bethel since he was a kid.

Who irons bed clothes? That's just weird!
(Not that I don't believe you, because I do. I just can't believe that the Henschel's would require that).
The more I learn about the WT leaders the more I see that they make the Pharisees look like amateurs.

MORE PROPAGANDA FROM THE CO!!
by DATA-DOG inwell, once again my "friend" has shared their notes with me from the latest co visit.
besides the usual 1914 assertions/ world getting worse all the time/ our day is the worst of all time nonsense, the co mentioned some interesting things.
number one won't surprise you.

DD: The CO even mentioned that "false religion" has the audacity to claim to represent God, but betrays that claim by their actions and doctrine.
I would actually agree with that statement, and then I would turn right around and apply to him and the entire religion. Results: False Religion!
Or to paraphrase Stephen F. Roberts
“I contend we are both anti-religion, I just believe in one fewer religion than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible religions, you will understand why I dismiss yours.”
Richard Dawkins is well known for echoing this sound bite in A Devil’s Chaplain. Let's paraphrase Dawkins as above:
"Jehovah's Witnesses assert that, when it comes to Catholicism, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, and Hinduism, those are actually false religions. We are all unbelievers about most of the religions that humanity has ever believed in. Some of us just go one religion further."
(Note: To be clear, the above are paraphrases of well-known statements by Dawkins and Roberts. To read their actual statements, click on the hyperlink on their respective names.)

Q: Why doesn't Jenny run things and have ToMo do her dirty laundry?
A: I know: It's a cult! In fact, it's a misogynist cult!
