  i'm sick of.... ...having an elder i barely know invite himself over to my house, and bring another asshole elder with him, you know, to "see how i'm doing" f-ck them.

  ...having same elder with all insincerity approach me at the beeting and before inviting himself over, ask, "how are you doing?

  " then when i say everything is great, go ahead and invite them selves over anyway.

  I never realized how boring I was.

  as a true believer in the watchtower, i never knew how truly boring i was until being out for a couple of years and then sitting down with a group of jws and having a conversation..

  thats what happened this morning.

  i decided to go have breakfast at mcdonalds and a group of jws who were out in service and know me also stopped for breakfast and sat down with me and we talked for about an hour.

  i was supposed to attend the meeting today, one of my once a month duties for the sake of my family and my fade.

  i read the wt and i just can't stomach going.... what this wt does is again and again reiterate that only jws will survive the coming destruction and that they should be happy about this and raise ourselves erect...eg:.

  we cannot expect that many people will suddenly convert to true christianity.

  Never mind that there are almost no anointed in any congregations anywhere.

  I guess you can treat them well by proxy through your financial support of the FDS, which coincidentally are the seven leaders of this scam!

  I knew there must be more to it. The OP contains many examples of WT style misquoting: selectively taking a quote out of context to make it appear to say the exact opposite of what the author intended.

  Clearly a deliberate deception.

  I completely agree with your thread title. It caught my attention. But you lost my by the fourth word of your long, convoluted and rambling essay, which did not--as far as I could tell (and, yes, I read the whole messy thing)--support your thesis.
  

  You clearly do not understand what science is, how it works or what it does and does not attempt to know, understand and explain.

  Clarity nailed it, writing with exquisite clarity.

  This is a cult. The leaders are manipulative liars and hypocrites. If they--that is, your family--choose to remain in a dangerous, destructive cult, then I suppose that's their right (if they are adults).

  I think a better question is this: Who are they to screw up your happiness?
