so, i'm resurrecting this "holy day" holiday that most people will unknowingly be celebrating tomorrow.

Panta Claus is coming to town!
from a story in the jewish press:.
quote: "the city of david excavations of the jerusalem hebrew university on mount ophel, at the foot of the southern wall of the temple mount compound, have yielded a sensational discovery: a seal (bulla) with the name of king hezekiah (727-698 bce).".
"king hezekiahs bulla was discovered in a garbage heap that was dumped during or shortly after hezekiahs time, from a royal building that was used to store food.

Interesting. Pretty amazing if it really belonged to Hezekiah. The "pagan" symbols have pretty profound implications for a King that allegedly cleaned up Judah:
2 Kings 18: 2 - 4 He was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned twenty-nine years in Jerusalem, and his mother’s name was Abi the daughter of Zechariah. And he did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, like all that his father David had done. He abolished the high places, and smashed the monuments, and cut down the asherah, and crushed the copper serpent that Moses had made, for until those days the children of Israel were burning incense to it; and he called it Nehushtan.
But I gotta ask: Why would this be in a garbage heap?
so the elders keep bugging me and pestering me about having a meeting with them to "introduce me to my new congregation" for some reason (do any ex elders know what that even means??).
i keep postponing and making excuses and they are getting more and more aggressive.
i finally agreed for them to come over today, but really don't want to..should i hide from them again?
The elders only have the authority over you which you give them.
You might appreciate this thread by 00DAD:
half of our congregation goes there to work out because of the good pool facilities and prices, and the other half think that it's wrong due to it's old charter.
but no one is enforcing the wrong or right of it.
i'd be interested in knowing how this is being applied worldwide.
Sure, go. Enjoy yourself.
If anyone gives you crap about it say, "First of all, it's none of your f*$king business what I do. But since you're all wound up, let me ask you a question, 'Did you know the WTBTS had a library card at the U.N. for over a decade?'"
Let's review: It's a cult!
You need to stop worrying about what other people think and start thinking for yourself.
so what scriptures do you think will never make the cut?i will start off with one to warm you all up.. 1 corinthians 4:6 - do not go beyond the things that are written,.

i was thinking the other day about trends.
think back over the decades and how generally the majority of people will feel or like or dislike the same things.
people comment how awful and ugly things that trended in the past were.
