Honesty: I believe the cult has a lot to do with the problems in my dysfunctional family.
This is one belief with which I would agree!
visiting her "lost son" and this morning she says there was demonic "knocking" on the windows and ceiling and she did not sleep.
my wife has her own buisness and works late so her holiness asked me to drive down to see if she was fornicating with anyone....she thinks two worldly people taking an elevator to the 10 floor would have had sex by the 5th floor....thats the quality of anionted alive today...she is not nuts a well respected pioneer nazi..... .

Honesty: I believe the cult has a lot to do with the problems in my dysfunctional family.

re-reading my last thread ".... my former faith, islam and tolerance" i can see my o.p failed to clarify the specific point i wished to debate.
( ironically i thought most posters were off topic).. now it occurd to me that i have joined this " discussion forum" but i have no former exsperience on discussion forums.
(a very sad realization having been here a year).
NHAH: I think my threads are more about learning than teaching now.
Good.
I'm glad you've realized that we often do NOT communicate the message we think we sent!
according to scripture, none of them ever met jesus.
i was a jw for 20 years and i never knew this!
i thought they were all apostles!
Their names are all four letter words.
CL: Someone out there please tell me I wasn't the only biblically-challenged-know-it-all in the orginization.
You weren't.
The WTBTS likes to make it's members believe they are "bible scholars" when the fact it, most aren't even all that knowledgeable about what JWs believe.
Of course, it's pretty hard to keep up with the constant doctrinal changes and the vast number of extra-biblical policies and practices.
Just the other day, a born-in JW in his late 20s confided to me that he'd really like to grow a beard. I asked him why he didn't. He said, "You know, privileges and parts on the podium [sic]."
I asked him, "Do you even know why JWs don't grow beards?"
He, not too surprisingly, said, "Uhh, no. Not really!"
Let's review: It's a cult!
so the new awake is up.. first question..... "how did life begin?.
how would you complete the following sentance?.
life is the result of..... a. evolution.
Why can they not be open, transparent?
Because then we'd be able to see the man behind the curtain!
some might assume that a scientifically-minded person would pick evolution and that a religious person would pick creation.
but not always.. rama singh, professor of biology at canadas mcmaster university, says: the opposition to evolution goes beyond religious fundamentalism and includes a great many people from educated sections of the population.
.
end-of-quote in awake.
Designer Stubble, please let us know if Singh responds.
sexual exploitation and abuse of six young children leads to lawsuit in dallas county.
dallas, oct. 23, 2014 /news.gnom.es/ six young adults, from north texas, all sexually abused as children, filed suit today in dallas, texas state court against three north texas jehovahs witnesses congregations (dallas, plano, and greenville), the watchtower bible and tract society of new york, and an elder.. sexually abused when they were ages 4 through 14, the plaintiffs were children of members of the dallas, plano, and greenville jehovahs witnesses congregations.
the suit states that they were repeatedly sexually abused and molested by an elder and an unknown regional circuit overseer, and that they and their families were threatened with discipline and harm if they disclosed the abuse to anyone.
From the Petition:
10. The Watchtower Defendants are so organized and controlled, and their affairs are so conducted, that they are the alter egos of Watchtower and operate as a sole business enterprise. Accordingly, all Defendants are agents and servants of each other and are vicariously liable for each other’s acts.
11. Through its hierarchical structure, the Governing Body assumes complete control over and responsibility for the selection, development, protection, and discipline of members, including children. To further its goals, the Governing Body authorizes male members to develop relationships of trust with women, children, and families, and to assume the role of counselor for any problems or issues that arise, including claims of abuse or molestation.
seriously, endured a torturous conversation with an active jdub yesterday.
and he was frothing at the mouth about how "muslims are doing the right thing with .
executing the....." he then went on to list everyone from drugdealers to thieves to fornicators.. he said "countries where this sort of thing is happening have got it right!
"we can count on Jehovah to execute those ones, so we don't have to"
So the Muslim fanatics are now working for Jehovah! Is that it?
These fools couldn't think their way out of a paper back with a blowtorch and a razor knife.
this was posted on a jw site and it would be nice if we could verify.. .. .. as of february 2015, the awake!
will come as a part of the watchtower public edition instead of as a separate magazine.
this is a huge change... with serious cost savings.
Remember? It was an incredible science and exploratory journal
Haha, hahaha!

I want one!
the second contrived and unrealistic conversation that one of jehovahs witnesses imagined having with a neighbor in the november 2014 watchtower will not be reproduced here.
instead let us imagine the other witness named andre (sorry, i meant) cameron has returned to the home of the other man also named jon.. nebuchadnezzars dream a tortuous recapcameron: hi there, neighbor!.
jon: whoa!
Very funny spoof! I laughed out loud.
