  Long prayers at the hall

  in every congregation there is always a brother who gives a marathon prayer.

  in my congregation there was a brother whose prayers were so long that i decided to time his prayer with my watch.

  it lasted about 3-4 minutes.

  In every congregation there is always a brother who gives a marathon prayer. In my congregation there was a brother whose prayers were so long that I decided to time his prayer with my watch. It lasted about 3-4 minutes. And each time the meeting finished late. Why do some say prayers so long? It showed that he just wanted to show off, and give us the impression that he was sooo spiritual. Did that bother you when that happened?

  i was watching the news last night.

  the latest word from the war front is that we should be able to peaceably work out our differences with north korea.

  as humiliating as it will be for us to kiss north korea's ass, we will do so because they do have the ability to nuke our west coast.

  who are the majority that are leaving?.

  are they those who grew up as witnesses, and this generation realized that this is not the true religion and leave?.

  or maybe a witness who had a position of power, such as an elder or ms, or maybe had some insight from bethel, and saw too much?.

  I don't think anybody is leaving any more because of the 1975 issue. That happened too long ago. Some will never leave, no matter what. And some will leave after their first doubt.

  There is OIL in Iraq. Yes the US needs that for it's economy. There is no oil in North Korea.

  The US cannot make war on 2 fronts at the same time. NO WAY

  Thats why there are not doing much military talking for North Korea

  North Korea has over 1 million troups at the border with South Korea. It would take 6 months for the US just to get 200,000 troups there to defend the South Korea. And like you said Robdar, they also have a coupe of Nuclear weapons.

  The US is not all bad and not all good.

  I know a brother who had a cleaning contract with Hydro Quebec, the brother needed about 50 brothers and sisters to clean a building. There were about 5 in charge to tell the workers where to go. Yes you guessed it right, it was the elders telling people where to go work. I can understand that in the congregation the elders are the leaders, but when they are cleaning, they should be equal to the others. Why were the elders in charge to tell the others where to clean. I would have loved to see an ordinary witness, even a sister, tell an elder to go do this or that. So I believe that the elders are appointed in the congregation mostly because of their leadership, not their spirituality.

  They probably choose them 'cos they do as they are told

  That means that they would be good in any religion !

  Jesus said to love your neighbors as yourself. This goes both ways. If everybody practiced this then we would live in a wonderful world. Can we really expect this?
