I also get this feeling that he may not really be suicidal, I think it may be a toll he is using in order to gain some of his own self control if you understand what I mean by that. It maybe that he is using that as a pity tool to get away or get help to get away...

Depending on what country he is in..
In the United States and in most states there is a law that allows a child to be emancipated, It requires a court hearing and there are certain things he will have to do before going to court. Also he is 17 years of age, in most states after14 years of age the child can determine on his own where he wants to live. There is not much the parents can do at this age he is almost 18 and if he told the authorities that he did not want to go back home they cannot do much about it....

I am with you brother, I was not angered by my post either. but some like ravyn only read between the lines and can only grasp certain parts then they run with it just like the JW's do with scripture. They take a couple of words and make a whole doctrine. I think that some of those who were in the borg still carry that same mentality after they leave, you know some people have to go get themselves deprogramed just to get themselves back on track.
I am not a mean person nor a dummy but I will speak my mind I do the same to people around me, I do not pull punches when it comes to my mind. But some take it the wrong way and yes I too beleive that it is because you cannot discern someones attitude or personality from the internet. OH WELL what are they gonna do take away my birthday ?

Well ! I must say your pretty harsh towards those who do not believe just the same as you. Maybe you should go start up your own little group and then convince them to swallow poison or something alike maybe that pleases you.
I am a christian and yes probably one of the most liberal christians there is. No I am not a believer out of guilt but my own belief comes from the fact that that is what pleases me the most. I am responsible for my own actions and not to blame it on anyone else "including Adam & Eve.
My beliefs come from a love, a pure love from deep in the heart for someone naming Christ who died in order that I might live forever. I don't have to live with fear of my sin because like Romans 8 : 2 say's (For in the law of Christ Jesus has saved me from the law of sin and death) So in those few words I don't feel I need to live by guilt or even fear anything from it. I know I am a sinner and there is nothing I can do about it other than to try to stop doing whatever it is thats bad. Not for anything but myself and for my fellow man.
You see I don't fornicate because I dont want diseases and I dont want to be responsible for giving them to someone else, I don't steal because I don't want to be stolen, I don't covet because I have all I need. So not everyone that believes is what your calling them. Maybe your problem here with christians is because you have some guilt of your own you need to deal with....

And if you go back to past post you will find that he (REM) does quite frequently attack those who do believe. I believe that the bible is true because I believe that God is real and that Jesus did die on the cross for you and for me. Because I love God with all my heart, mind and soul and I love Jesus for what he did for me. There never has been another person who has done for me that Jesus did. I think that the bible is the wonderful word of The Lord..
